“One Day We Will Kill All The Jews”: The Hadith of Mohammed

TODAY’S BLOG:

“The day of judgment will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews and kill them all . . .” [from the Hadith–the sayings of Mohammed that are used by Muslims to supplement and understand the Koran]

The entire rim of northern Africa is being swept up in the post-Arab Spring Islamist surge.

This morning brings reports that the Islamist party in Morocco has won yesterday’s elections. Islamist Ennahda is now firmly entrenched in Tunisia. The Islamists in Libya are on the verge of taking over the operations of the government. And the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt grows more powerful by the day.

Do you want to know what the future holds for Israel?

Outside the Cairo mosque yesterday. Welcome to the new Islamist Middle East.

The internet and blogosphere are awash with a story written yesterday by Eldad Beck for the online version of the Israeli Yediot Aharonot newspaper. Allow your humble servant to paraphrase as below:

—–

A Muslim Brotherhood rally was held in a Cairo mosque yesterday ostensibly to protest against the “Judaization of Jerusalem.” 5000 Muslims spent the better part of two hours chanting repeatedly:

“One day we will kill all the Jews!”

“Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv, Your judgment day has come!”

There were a host of speakers at the event including Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb who railed against the “Zionist occupiers” and the “treacherous Jews” (the phrase is taken directly from the Koran), and accused Jews “everywhere in the world” of trying to thwart Islamic and Egyptian unity. His speech was peppered with such lines as:  “In order to build Egypt, we must be one. Politics is insufficient. Faith in Allah is the basis for everything.”

Palestinian guest speakers exhorted the crowd to begin a Jihad to “liberate all of Palestine.” Participants in the audience repeated over and over again their willingness and desire to die–something they said that differentiated themselves from “Americans and Jews.”

The Middle East is a place where the more things change the more they revert to the past. As some of us pointed out during the so-called Arab Spring, the reversion to Islam was inevitable in the wake of Arabic despotism. It is a movement back to Islam that has terrible implications for any “democracy” movement in the Arab countries in general and bodes ominously for Israel in particular in that sooner or later Israel will  find itself openly confronted by Islamists throughout the region–and not just by those in Iran, Gaza, and southern Lebanon.

“One day we will kill all the Jews.”

THIS DAY IN ISRAELI HISTORY

Hearkening back to yesterday’s blog . . .

On November 26, 1942, one month to the day after every Norwegian Jewish man had been arrested and deported to concentration camps, the remaining Jews in Norway–women and children–were rounded up by Nazi and Norwegian authorities and sent to concentration camps where more than 98% of them were murdered.

Not coincidentally, the Norwegian boycott Israel movement has chosen today, November 26, 2011, as the day to kick off their latest effort to boycott Israeli products in Norwegian supermarkets.

Your humble servant leaves it to you, dear reader, to draw your own conclusions.
