UPDATE 10 am Israel time Tuesday:
From south to north, Israel has been beset by violence in the last 24 hours.
This morning an IDF soldier has been badly wounded by an IED that exploded on the Gaza border east of Khan Younis. Yesterday the Gaza communities were hit by rockets twice following the IDF intercept of a Palestinian terrorist who was attempting to breach the Gaza fence.
Meanwhile, along the Golan Heights, the war in Syria continues spilling over into Israel with an Israeli jeep being hit by bullets from the Syrian Army.
IF YOU ARE AN AMERICAN CITIZEN WHO HAS NOT YET VOTED, PLEASE GO VOTE NOW!
FOR THE UNITED STATES AND FOR ISRAEL
ISRAELSTREET STRONGLY RECOMMENDS
What is on Israel’s mind this morning?
All you have to do is read the headlines in Israeli newspapers today:
Yediot Aharonot: “Obama, Romney Gear for Election Day”
Jerusalem Post: “Voter Turnout is Key to American Election Outcome as Race Remains Tight”
Israel Hayom: “Every Vote Counts”
Maariv: “Ohio Remains the key to victory in elections in the United States”
All Israelis (except for the ultra-Orthodox) are on the edge of their seats awaiting the results of the American election. The most recent polls in Israel show that Israeli Jews overwhelmingly support Mitt Romney for president. Not surprisingly, the same polls show that Israeli Arabs overwhelmingly support Barack Obama.
Will we know the result tomorrow? Or we will we be plunged into another round of vote challenges, recounts, and judicial decisions? Tune in tomorrow to find out.
