Dear readers, please note that your humble servant is en route to Israel. This israelstreet blog will be updated as possible during the next two days and will return to normal publication on Monday.
UPDATES 6 pm Israel time Friday:
*For the first time since the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in caves near Qumran, a road has been built to access the area of the cliff caves of Kalia. Built by volunteer students from the Bnei Akiva Sussia and the Sussia Field School in concert with the Nature and Parks Authority, the road cuts through the heart of the nature reserve in the area.
*Today has been another day of Muslim demonstrations on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. It is absolutely outrageous that the Jerusalem Police will not allow any Jewish religious activity on the Mount, but will allow Koran-waving Muslims to parade around Judaism’s holiest site.
*It is has been reported by the IDF that Palestinians are now actively tunneling under the separation fence that Israel built to stop suicide bombers emanating from Judea and Samaria. Copying the same techniques as used to burrow under the fence separating Egypt from Gaza, Palestinians are now ferrying weapons and arms into Israel. The IDF is specifically concerned that an attempt may be made to use the tunnels to kidnap Israeli soldiers.
One of the “non pre-conditions” that the PLO has been demanding is the release of terrorists, and the world just can’t seem to understand Israel’s reluctance to do so.
Take the example of Adham Abdel Karim Yousef, one of the leaders of the military wing of Islamic Jihad who was released today after serving nine years in prison in Be’er Sheva for extensive terrorist activities.
The pictures tell below tell the story of his triumphant entry into Gaza this afternoon:

How long will it be until Yousef leads an attack that kills more Israelis? I leave it to you, dear reader, to draw your own conclusions.
