The Temple Mount Is Ours!

UPDATES 8 pm Israel time, Tuesday, February 25 2014:

**What happened last night on the Lebanese-Syrian border is still open to question today, but it appears that the IAF struck a Hezbollah convoy ferrying weapons from Syria into the Beka’a valley.

Where the IAF strike supposedly occurred (map: Ynet).

Where the IAF strike supposedly occurred (map: Ynet).

The oddity is that while news agencies on all sides are reporting the strike, Hezbollah has made no comment.

**The most idiotic comment of the day has come from German Chancellor Angela Merkel who is being wined and dined in Israel–even to the point of being awarded the Presidential Medal of Distinction by the ever unctuous Israeli President Shimon Peres.

Speaking on the subject of a boycott against Israel, Merkel devolved into this this Orwellian explanation: “We do not support the demands for a boycott. This is not an option for Germany. We have certain rules of labeling and we have to adhere to those rules, but we do not believe in boycotts.” In other words, we do not support a boycott, but we will continue labeling products from Judea and Samaria so they can be boycotted.

The Muslim world from Jakarta to Beirut to Amman has erupted in outrage over a discussion taking place in the Israeli Knesset.

That discussion has as its subject “extending Israeli sovereignty” over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem–Judaism’s holiest place. Initiated by MK Moshe Feiglin, the conversation has centered on the fact that the Israeli government continually kowtows to the Jordanian-controlled Islamic Wakf and prevents Jews from praying and even ascending Judaism’s holiest place.

MK Miri Regev, as usual, hit the nail on the head this afternoon when she commented that if  IDF Gen. Motta Gur stood on the Temple Mount and shouted “The Temple Mount is ours!” today as he did in 1967 when Israel took the Old City of Jerusalem, Gur would absurdly be arrested.

By the way, your humble servant wonders how Israeli sovereignty can be “extended” over an area which is already under Israeli sovereignty. The Islamic Wakf control over the religious happenings on the Mount can be taken away, but as Motta Gur said, “The Temple Mount is ours!”
