The Double Absurdity of Giving Away Land For Nothing

UPDATES 4 pm Israel time, Saturday, March 8 2014:

*Further statistics on Palestinian terror in Judea and Samaria during 2013 were published yesterday. According to the IDF, there were 16 attempted Palestinian suicide attacks, 52 attempted Palestinian kidnappings of Israeli soldiers and civilians, and 67 Palestinian IED attacks against Israeli soldiers.

This is not counting hundreds of Palestinian shooting attacks, Molotov cocktail attacks, and “rock” throwing attacks.

Your humble servant cannot help but think of President Obama’s lavish praise the other day (in the Goldberg interview) of Mahmoud Abbas as “a man of peace” and for the Palestinians as “a people who want peace”.

*At 5:30 pm Israel time (in an hour and a half), the boat loaded with Iranian missiles is set to arrive in Eilat.

*Egypt continues building its buffer zone on the Gaza border by destroying Palestinian houses.

*Heavy fighting in Syria has resulted in another 40 dead Hezbollah terrorists including several leading field commanders.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Your humble servant is continually appalled by the propensity of the Netanyahu government to give away Israel with no “negotiations” whatsoever–and all in the name of being politically correct and trying to make Israel “look good” to the international community and to John Kerry and Barack Obama.

Yesterday, PM Benjamin Netanyahu was hard at work doing just that–giving away territory in advance of the next round of so-called “negotiations”.
Individuals buying Kamagra pills can save hundreds of dollars compared to purchasing the original buy cialis overnight. With the stress of day to day life, many men neglect their health, and the effects online pharmacy sildenafil can be seen as redness and swelling, as seen in a wound.

Here’s what Netanyahu said to Israel’s Channel 2 news:

“It is clear that some of the settlements, some of them, will not be included in the agreement. That’s clear. Everyone understands that. I will ensure the number will be as small as possible, as far as is possible, if we get there.”

–Some of the “settlements” will not be included”?

What gives Netanyahu the right to make this decision? What gives him the right to give away Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria? Absolutely nothing. If such a decision is to be made, it should be made by the Israeli public, not by those who kowtow to other interests.

–And “I will ensure the number will be as small as possible, as far as possible”? What kind of absurdity is this? Why is up to anyone but Israel to make this decision? It isn’t.

But again, what is additionally galling about Netanyahu’s statement is that it comes in the absence of any compromise whatsoever by the Palestinians. Yesterday, for the one thousandth time, Mahmoud Abbas declared that there was “no way” that he will ever accept a “Jewish state” nor would he accept any IDF presence in “Palestine.”

It is absurd enough to give away “land for peace”. But Netanyahu has taken this to new heights (or depths) by giving away land for nothing.
