Orwell Would Have Been Proud: It Was Only “An Accident.”

UPDATES 6 pm Israel time, Thursday, November 6 2014:

—>All of Jerusalem is on high alert as of this hour in anticipation of another terrorist attack which has been described as “imminent” by the Shin Bet security service–which is turning over every stone looking for the terrorist.

—>Demonstrations erupted in Jerusalem last night. As you can tell from the signs held by the demonstrators and on the ground, the wave of Arab violence has led to a resurgence in the beliefs of Rabbi Meir Kahane (who was assassinated and whose nationalist Kach party was banned because it was allegedly extremist):

The signs read: "Rabbi Kahane was right."

The signs read: “Rabbi Kahane was right.”

Another sight from the demonstration last night:

The gist of the caption is that the flag of Israel which is a symbol of pride for Jews is being used these days to wrap the bodies of Jewish victims. Again, the small circular signs read "Rabbi Kahane was right."

—>What has happened to the dead and wounded in all of the recent terror attacks in Jerusalem?

Rabbi Yehuda Glick, shot four times by a would-be assassin, continues to improve. Out from total anesthesia, he communicated with his doctors and family yesterday with nods of his head.

Jidan Assad, the Israeli Border Guard who was killed two days ago, was buried yesterday in his home Druze city of Beit Jann with full military honors. Thousands attended the funeral.

Two more Israelis wounded in the same attack that killed Assad remain hospitalized at Hadassah Hospital. One is still in critical condition and the other is in moderate condition. Three more Israelis wounded in the same sequence of attacks are hospitalized at Shaare Tzedek–two of them are in “critical condition.”

Of the three soldiers run over in Gush Etzion yesterday, two are in moderate to severe condition, but unfortunately the condition of the other has deteriorated to “grave”.

—>For those who refuse to believe where the sympathies of John Kerry and the Obama Administration lie, you should take a look at the televised statement today of Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh announcing that Jordan is recalling its ambassador to Israel. He made the remarks in Paris prior to a meeting with Kerry–who was standing beside him as he said this (this is the U.S. State Department transcript):

FOREIGN MINISTER JUDEH: We have recalled our ambassador in Tel Aviv for consultations. I took that during – this morning after the government decided that what we have seen in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound – not just in the last 24 hours, but over the last period – and in general is just way beyond the limits. We have sent repeated messages to Israel directly and indirectly that Jerusalem is a redline, and these continuous violations and incursions and stopping people from worshipping freely and allowing extremists to come in under the protection of Israeli police and so many other violations, we have said that this is a redline. And Jordan, His Majesty The King, is the custodian of Christian and Muslim holy places in Jerusalem, and these violations are infuriating the emotions and the sensitivity of 1.5 billion Muslims around the world. So I think this was a clear message today that recalling our ambassador for consultation is an indication of the seriousness of the situation. Calm has to be restored, Israel has to respect the sanctity of the holy sites, and I think this will resonate today.

And what was Kerry doing while Judeh was ranting? Standing besiding him and nodding his head in agreement to every syllable Judeh said.

—>In a totally outrageous but completely expected explanation of the increasing violence in Jerusalem, the Jerusalem police declared yesterday that the reasons for the violence are the living conditions of Arabs in eastern Jerusalem and provocative statements made by Israeli leaders about the Mount. More than this, the Police demanded that PM Netanyahu prohibit all Jewish members of the Knesset from ascending the Mount for the foreseeable future. Apparently, Netanyahu has agreed.

Can you even believe this?

Hamas takes over the Mount and initiates nonstop rioting on the Mount and throughout the city, and the Jerusalem Police respond by declaring that Jews need to be quiet and stay off the Mount.

TODAY’S BLOG:

orwell

George Orwell would have been proud. What he predicted in his novel 1984 has come to pass.

If you have never read that novel, its protagonist, Winston Smith, works at the Ministry of Truth. On the outside wall of the building are the three main slogans of the ruling party: “War is Peace”, “Freedom is Slavery”, and “Ignorance is Strength.” The purpose of the Ministry of Truth is to rewrite history in order to make it fit party doctrine in general and the predictions of its leader Big Brother in particular.

We now live in a 2014 world in which “Big Brothers” all over the globe use terms to mask the truth. This is especially true when it comes to Islamic terrorism.

Such masking always begins with the statement that “Islam is the religion of peace.” It continues when “radical Muslims” become “moderate Muslims.”  It permeates into the fiber of our existence when terrorist attacks become “honor” killings, or “workplace” violence, or “domestic” violence or even more insidiously, merely “accidents”.

We see the Orwellian use of language all around us in Israel.

Terrorists are magically transformed into “partners for peace”.  Vicious organizations which exist for no other reason than to delegitimize Israel have benevolently become “human rights organizations.” Anti-Jewish villains of the worst order now mask their anti-Semitism by calling themselves “anti-Zionists”.

Three of the worst propagators of Orwellian Big Brother speak have become the Israel government, the Israel Defense Forces, and the Israeli media.

PM Netanyahu regularly refers to the Islamic takeover of the Temple Mount as “the status quo.” Tzipi Livni refers to Rabbi Yehuda Glick who does nothing except work for equal civil and religious rights for Jews, Christians, and Muslims as “a right wing extremist.”

Missile attacks on southern Israel have become “false alarms”. Missile impact explosions are now called “sonic booms.” Tunnel building materials trucked into Gaza in COGAT so-called humanitarian convoys are renamed “construction materials”. The constant firing of two or three missiles per week into southern Israel has become “relative calm”.

Back in 2011, the Palestinian terrorist murder of Rabbi Moshe Talbi was initially termed a “suicide“.  Later in the same year, the IDF disingenuously called the Palestinian terrorist murder of Asher Palmer and his son Yehonatan “an accident” until forced to do otherwise.

All of this brings me to what happened today.

Just as in the Palmer murders and despite witnesses and a security camera video to the contrary, the IDF has come out today to proclaim to all who will listen that the Palestinian terrorist attack on three soldiers in the Gush Etzion area was actually just an “accident”.

Never mind that the terrorist intentionally ran his car off the road to hit the soldiers, nevermind that he directly ran over them in a ditch, never mind that he fled the scene in the car, never mind that he didn’t turn himself in until his brother and father were taken in for questioning, never mind any of this.

It was just an accident.

George Orwell would have been proud.
