By the way, in an outrageous decision yesterday, the Israel State Comptroller Director General (otherwise known as the Auditor General), Joseph Shapira, announced that the actions of V15 Organization on behalf of Herzog and Livni–also subsidized by the U.S. State Department– will not be examined for improprieties until after the election.

Shapira dissembled that his office lacks the authority to investigate V15 now. This is the same Shapira who announced on Monday that he would release a report on PM Netanyahu’s “personally excessive spending” on February the 17th–one month before the election.

***Remember the “happy” picture from yesterday’s blog of an illegally built Palestinian building in Area C being destroyed? Last night, the Israel Supreme Court ordered the demolition of 9 legally built Israeli homes in Ofra. The owners of the homes have announced that they will appeal–and the Court has given them two years to do so.

TODAY’S BLOG:

It is easy to get caught up in upcoming Netanyahu speech in Washington, the security issues that constantly threaten all of our borders, and the trivialities of next month’s election–and forget about the terrorism that goes on in Israel every hour of every day.

Today’s blog is a greatly abbreviated list of terrorist incidents that took place between 7:00 am yesterday morning and 7:30 pm yesterday evening:

At 7:05 am, Palestinian terrorists threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli bus near the Tapuach Junction. There were no physical wounds to passengers.

At 8:17 am, Arab terrorists threw “rocks” at an Israeli bus in Nazareth. There were no physical wounds to passengers.

At 9:42 am, Palestinian terrorists threw “rocks” from a moving car at an Israeli motorist and her family near West Benjamin.

At 11:32 am, a Jewish Israeli was wounded by Palestinian terrorists who threw “rocks” at him near the police station at Sultan Suleiman in Jerusalem.

At 12:38 pm, an Arab terrorist threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli home in the Ras Al-Mud section of Jerusalem, setting the balcony of the home on fire.

At around 12:45 pm, a Palestinian construction worker from Hebron dropped a large “stone” from the second floor of a building under construction in Ashdod at an orthodox kindergarten next door. Miraculously, no child was killed, but a four year old boy had to have fingers amputated (the “stone” hit him in the hand, and doctors were lucky to save most of it). The terrorist was captured and arrested.

At 1:00 pm, a Palestinian terrorist tried to run over a soldier beside the checkpoint near the Gush Etzion tunnel on the way out of Jerusalem. The soldier was lightly wounded, and the terrorist was captured.

At 1:16 pm, Palestinian terrorists threw “rocks” at Israeli motorists on the road near Gilad Farm in Samaria. No motorists wounded physically, but cars were badly damaged.

At 1:17 pm, Palestinian terrorists threw “rocks” at vehicles at the entrance to Nabi Saleh.

At 3:24 pm, an IDF soldier was hit in the neck by a “rock” thrown by a Palestinian terrorist in Deir Nazim. He was rushed to Hadassah hospital in Ein Kerem in Jerusalem where he remains in intensive care.

At 5:05 pm, Palestinian terrorists assaulted Israeli motorists near Sinjil.

At 5:13 pm, Palestinian terrorists struck again with “rocks” near Nabi Saleh.

At around 6:30 pm, five Palestinian terrorists were captured with a large quantity of “explosive fireworks” at the Salem checkpoint.

At 6:39 pm, an “infiltration alarm” went off inside a Jewish community near Shechem; security forces tracked the infiltrator for a few kilometers before he escaped into the night.

At 7:27 pm, Molotov cocktails were thrown at a home near the tomb of Simon the Just in Jerusalem. They exploded inside the home, but fortunately, no one was physically wounded despite the fire.

Attempted murders of Israeli civilians and soldiers, amputated fingers of an Israeli child, wounded IDF soldiers, burning Israeli homes, thwarted infiltrations of Israeli communities: have you read anything about any of these in the international media today?

Of course not. The world doesn’t care about stories like these.

But terrorism like this is what the citizens of Israel face everyday.
