QUOTE OF THE DAY:

After confirming that the Obama-ordered U.S. airstrikes were carried out on Manjib, Syria on Tuesday, a U.S. spokesman responded to news reports that some 85 civilians including a dozen children were accidentally killed in U.S. air strikes near Manbij, Syria on Tuesday. Eight families were completely wiped out.

“If the information supporting the allegation is determined to be credible, we will then determine the next appropriate step. The US military takes all measures during the targeting process to avoid or minimize civilian casualties.”

“If the information supporting the allegation is determined to be credible”:

Your humble servant cannot help but wonder how many hundreds, if not thousands, of Syrian (not to mention Iraqi and Afghani) men, women, and children have been killed in Obama-ordered airstrikes in recent months. Of course, this is the same Obama who fraudulently accused Israel of indiscriminate bombing of Gaza back in 2014.

JOKE OF THE DAY:

The joke of today is one of black humor at best.

Yesterday, PM Netanyahu and Public Security Minister Erdan made a grand show of touring a new security barrier being built between Meitar near Beersheva, and Tarkumiya west of Hevron.

Why is this a joke?

For a number of reasons.

First, the security barrier is just 42 km long. It is estimated that it needs to be 330+ km long to be effective against infiltrations.

Second, work on the barrier is supposed to be completed “in about a year.” Say what? One year to complete the barrier?

Third and finally, the security barrier is a joke because nobody enforces the current security barriers. Palestinians go over and around the barriers with complete impunity every hour of every day. Even Netanyahu was forced to acknowledge yesterday that the barrier will have little effect unless Israeli employers stop hiring illegal Palestinian workers and unless the police stop the illegal workers from being transported into Israel and housed.

UPDATES 10 am Israel time

…Palestinian terrorism not in the mainstream news yesterday…

There were Molotov firebomb and “rock” attacks in numerous locations throughout Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem. In one such attack in the A-Ram neighborhood of Jerusalem, a terrorist was shot and killed as he attacked soldiers.

…Israel and Guinea establish diplomatic relations…

In what can only be described as a landmark event, Israel and the predominantly Muslim-African country of Guinea signed documents establishing diplomatic relations yesterday.

Dore Gold signing documents with the Guinean representative yesterday.

It is wonderful to see how, in the face to continued hostility from Europe, Israel has turned its eyes to Africa, the Indian sub-continent, and Asia to form new friendships.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The Dawabshe farce continues.

In reference to the picture of the day above, you will remember dear reader how three Dawabshe family members were killed in a horrific fire in their home in Duma on July 31st of last year.  And that after months of hauling in and literally torturing more than 30 Jewish minors without charges, without legal representation, and without family access, one Jewish man, Amiram Ben Oliel was forced to “confess” to the crime–a “confession” he has since recanted.

Moreover, if you are a regular reader of this blog, you will know that the Dawabshe clan in Duma has been the target of numerous arson attacks over the the last few years, all related to inter-clan rivalry in Duma.  The arson attacks have continued this year. You may remember that on March 20th the home of Ibrahim Dawabshe was burned out.

All of which brings us to yesterday when yet another Dawabshe home, this one belonging to Muhammad Dawabshe was struck in another firebomb attack. And again, just like in the attack on March 20th, the Israeli police have determined that the fire was caused by Molotovs thrown in the window of the house by other Palestinians in Duma.

So let’s get this straight.

There were at least 5 arson attacks on Dawabshe family homes in Duma before July 31st of last year. And now there have been 2 more arson attacks on Dawabshe family homes after July 31st.

Eight total attacks. Most of which involved exactly the same M.O.–Molotovs thrown through the window of a Dawabshe house.

And the only attack for which the Israel police have charged an Israeli Jew is the one on July 31, 2015.

Do you smell a rat here?

A very large rat.

Your humble servant sincerely hopes that when the trial of Amiram Ben Oliel finally comes us (if it ever does), the case will be dismissed forthwith.

Oliel’s arrest and tortured confession are yet another blot on an already tarnished Israel judicial system which continues to target young Jewish teenagers living in Judea and Samaria.
