The government backtracks on Al-Jazeera . . .

In what can only be described as a nauseating turn of events, the Government Press Office is reconsidering its decision to revoke the press credentials of an Al-Jazeera journalist claiming that “journalistic freedom” outweighs every other consideration.

What nonsense.

Here we have a network whose faux “journalists” take every opportunity to delegitimize Israel–and even worse, worked during the most recent war with Hamas to broadcast sheer anti-Israel propaganda around the world. Those same “journalists” are nothing more than the public relations arm of Qatar, a terrorist country that attacks Israel in every venue it can find.

It didn’t take long for her to get her revenge . . .

You may recall that two days ago, we reported that residents of south Tel Aviv had protested Saturday night in front of the home of Supreme Court President Miriam Naor. They were protesting the lack of Court action concerning the fact that their neighborhoods have been overrun by illegal African infiltrators who are engaged in an ongoing wave of crime.

They had been asking for action on a pending Court case for months.

Guess what?

Suddenly yesterday the Court decided the casein favor of the infiltrators. Specifically, the Court ruled that the government cannot detain illegal infiltrators who refuse deportation to their home country or another African country.

Expect the situation in south Tel Aviv to continue to worsen.

TODAY’S BLOG:

So Now Reform and Conservative Jews Want What?

In another Court filing yesterday, the Reform and Conservative Movements–along with one part of Women of the Wall–declared that they no longer want the government to enlarge the already existing separate egalitarian space at the southern end of the Kotel.

Now they want the whole Kotel.

Yes, you read that correctly.

They want the entire Kotel to be egalitarian.

Your humble servant thinks the chance of that happening is less than zero. Even the Court realizes that imposing such a situation would ignite a “war” with orthodox Jews. And what a disproportionate war it would be.

By way of numbers, it might be helpful for the Court to consider that here in Israel, .02% of all Jews (about 10,000 people) are Reform or Conservative. Orthodox Jewry dominates the landscape. In a recent article, it was pointed out: “Even in secular Tel Aviv, there are 550 Orthodox synagogues, yet only one Reform Temple.”

Once again, your humble servant cannot overemphasize how absurd this entire situation has become.

For years, Reform and Conservative Jews have had an egalitarian place to pray at the Kotel.

As I pointed out by way of a video I made last month in Jerusalem, the current egalitarian space is spacious–and hardly ever used. On the day I was there, only one other person was around, a female Asian tourist.

And despite the spaciousness and the lack to people using the space, the government has offered to enlarge it.

All of which begs the questions of “Why is it that Reform and Conservative Jews want to rip apart the fabric of tradition at the Kotel? What can they possibly hope to gain?”

Perhaps, they are merely trying to make some noise before their movements die out completely.
