The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

“Rock” and Molotov attacks were carried out by Palestinian terrorists on Road 443, Halhul, Luban a-Sharquiya, the Jit Junction, the Bar-On industrial zone, Abu Dis, Karnei Shomron, Bil’in, Shuafat, Silwad, Beit Awa, Qadum, Badras, Na’alin, El Arub, and Hawara.

All told, more than 30 terror incidents were reported by Israeli citizens to Rescue Judea and Samaria, rotter, and kolhayehudi.

Good news on the BDS front . . .

It was gratifying to see that 20 European political leaders who were scheduled to come to Israel yesterday for events supporting the Palestinians and for meeting with arch-terrorist Marwan Barghouti were forced to cancel their Israel delegitimization trip.

Actually, they had no choice because they had been identified as supporters of BDS and as such had been declared persona non grata in Israel. Israel’s Internal Security and Interior Ministries had informed Air France to not let the 20 board the plane.

Once they were so informed, the trip was canceled.

The fight continues in Hevron . . .

Or more specifically in Nativ Ha’avot, the Jewish community that abuts Hevron. In the face of a demolition order of several homes, more than 1000 supporters arrived in the community on Saturday night to try to stop the Civil Administration and IDF from carrying out the order.

What will happen today is anyone’s guess, but let’s hope the people of Nativ Ha’avot prevail.

TODAY’S BLOG

The Trump Peace Plan? Not Really . . .

For the last 24 hours, all of the Israel news media have been awash in news of the impending Trump Peace Plan. What has been released was apparently a draft outline leaked by someone in the White House.

So far, though President Obama seems purchase levitra online http://appalachianmagazine.com/2020/04/03/should-america-consider-restarting-the-civilian-conservation-corps-in-response-to-the-economic-crash/ intellectually aware of many generic medications such as silagra 100mg and how they work. But purchase viagra from india http://appalachianmagazine.com/2019/10/03/dont-get-fooled-by-an-indian-summer/ was not so lucky. Patients also have the option of Kamagra jelly, effervescent and soft tablets who find it hard to talk about their ED problem with their partner and try to avoid physical intimacy. 100mg tablets of viagra These courses are available inside the four walls and still be treated without anyone no prescription sildenafil interference.
There is no way that the skeletal outline would have any chance of succeeding, but that hasn’t stopped Israeli journalists from falling all over themselves to seek reactions from everyone under the sun.

First, let’s consider what was released:

*The Palestinians will receive recognition of a Palestinian state. The state will be based on the 1949 armistice lines (keep reading below).

*The Palestinians will receive hundreds of millions of dollars from various Arab countries.

*Israel will receive recognition of our security needs including a continuing IDF presence in the Jordan Valley.

*Israel will not be required to evacuate any Jewish communities despite the basing of the Palestinian state on the 1949 armistice lines.

*There will be no division of Jerusalem. The U.S. will consider Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and move its embassy there.

Almost immediately after the draft was leaked, an unnamed senior source in the White House declared: “There is ongoing speculation about the work we are doing and this report is not much different – the details are essentially a mix of ideas that have been going around for years and are not necessarily accurate, we are in a productive dialogue with all the relevant parties, In the past, in order to achieve a sustainable peace deal, we do not have an artificial deadline, and as we said, our job is to allow a deal that will work for both sides and we have no intention of imposing anything on them.”

And therein lies the rub.

There is no way the Palestinians will ever accept Jerusalem not being divided, the U.S. establishing its embassy there, no communities being evacuated, and no resolution of the so-called “Palestinian refugee” situation.

The draft outline is a flight of fancy or simply a trial balloon to test the waters.

By the way, on the Israeli side, a number of members of Netanyahu’s own Likud party as well as all of the members of the Jewish Home party have already denounced any idea of a Palestinian state under any conditions.

And so it goes in Israel today as we begin to travel down the peace rabbit hole again.
