SPECIAL BREAKING NEWS (8:30 PM)

President Trump has just declared that the city of Jerusalem is capital of Israel, and the work has begun on moving the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Israelis are currently dancing in the streets of Jerusalem!

The News On the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Scores of terror attacks took place across Judea and Samaria. The increasing focus of these in recent weeks has been buses which are a major “prize” simply because they carry more potential victims.

Yesterday, terrorists riddled a bus with bullets which was traveling between Dotan and Hermesh in northern Samaria. No Israelis were physically wounded but many passengers were traumatized. Another bus traveling near the Hasno Junction south of Hevron was hit by “rocks and Molotovs.” Yet another bus was attacked on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road. Still another bus was assaulted at Yabad.

Aside from the bus attacks, there were terror assaults against worshipers at Rachel’s Tomb; against motorists at Kiryat Arba, Nebi Elias, Beit Ummar, El Aruv, Beit El, Kevis Junction, the Bani Na’im Junction, Halhul, and Deir Nizam; and against pedestrians at Jebel Sindes, Hevron, Shechem, and Qusra (where terrorists threw Molotovs and rolled boulders down a hill at Jews walking below).

The U.S. House of Representatives approves the Taylor Force Act . . .

The U.S. House approved legislation to halt funding to the PLO unless the PLO stops funding the salaries of Palestinian terrorists in prison and the families of dead terrorists.

The law must now be approved by the U.S. Senate and then signed by President Trump. It does permit the continued funding of Palestinian water programs (currently, Israeli taxpayers fund all water going to Judea and Samaria); vaccination programs for Palestinian children; and hospital facilities in eastern Jerusalem.

As we all know, Mahmoud Abbas and others in the PLO have declared that funding for terrorists and their families will never stop–and as we have reported previously Qatar is now beginning to fund the terrorists as well.

Bravo to the House!

Can this really be happening? Is it really possible that President Trump will declare that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and that he is beginning the process of moving the Embassy to Jerusalem?

Just three days ago I thought not, but this is what is being reported everywhere: tonight at 8 pm our time here in Israel, Trump will declare Jerusalem the capital, state that he is moving the Embassy…and will sign the waiver (to continue funding). As you undoubtedly know by now, Trump has called Mahmoud Abbas, President Sisi of Egypt, King Abdullah of Jordan, and others to let them know what he is going to do.

There are a number of fascinating aspects to this impending announcement.
Dosage pattern Dosage to viagra uk is easy to understand. viagra no prescription canada These are ideally produced to be efficient in the ED or impotence treatment. There are a lot of types of this Kamagra like cheap viagra tablet oral jelly, chewing gum type, polo ring type and also the most known pill type. To begin with, it is quite amazing that Trump is going against a triumverate of his closest advisers: namely, National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and Secretary of Defense James Mattis.

You will recall that it was McMaster who would not even allow Trump to go to the Western Wall with Netanyahu when Trump visited here for fear that this would indicate that the U.S. believes that the Western Wall belongs to Israel. And it was Mattis who testified in his Senate confirmation hearings that Tel Aviv is the capital of Israel.

So how were McMaster, Tillerson, and Mattis overruled? Simply because the voices on the other side of the argument were so powerful–especially in an electoral sense.

Christian evangelicals voted in droves for Trump in the last election mainly because of Trump’s promise to move the Embassy. Led by Christians United for Israel, they have flooded Trump’s mailbox and the White House switchboards with demands that Trump keep his promise.

Also, let’s not forget the Pence factor. Vice President Michael Pence is a Christian evangelical himself, and we already know from the firing of Michael Flynn how powerful a voice Pence has. Not coincidentally, Pence will arrive in Israel on December 17 and will address the Knesset.

Moreover, there is President Trump himself. Never one to follow the herd, his natural tendency seems to be to buck the tide especially when he feels that he is right.

And in this case, he is absolutely correct.

Second, the impending announcement has brought out all of the world’s anti-Semites in a chorus of anti-Trump and anti-Israel declarations. Of course, the leading anti-Israel cheerleader has been viciously anti-Semitic Turkish PM Erdogan who said he will cut diplomatic relations with Israel if Trump makes the expected declarations. He has been joined in the denunciations by Egyptian Sisi, Jordanian Abdullah, and the usual cast of Arab characters from the Arab League.

But how about the  “non-Arabs”?

Again, it has been the usual cast of anti-Israel characters who denounced the possible American moves: French president Macron, German FM Sigmar Gabriel, EU FM Mogherini, UN Secretary General Guterres, and a host of others.

What can we expect in the wake of Trump’s speech tonight?

There will be a wave of Palestinian violence exceeding the wave of violence that already exists. The PLO, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad have already promised as much. Israeli civilians, soldiers, and police will die as will Palestinian terrorists.

There will be a wave of ranting from the Palestinians and others that this is the death of the peace process. But the truth is that there has never been a peace process. There has only been an Israeli concession process–the Palestinians have never been willing to make even one concession to peace.

There will be a wave of denunciations of Israel and President Trump. This will especially come from Democrats in the United States, the European Union, and the United Nations. But so what? These groups already denounce Israel and Trump at every possible opportunity.

In sum, if the speech goes as planned (and who can tell if President Trump might change his mind), it will correct an historic wrong.

Jerusalem has always been the eternal capital of the Jewish people despite the fact that in recent decades the Palestinians have attempted to usurp all of Jewish history. And the American Embassy should have been in Jerusalem from the beginning of the modern state of Israel.
