The News On The Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

On the Gaza border:

Where does your humble servant begin today?

–How about with the incoming missile alarms that sounded yesterday afternoon at 4:45 pm in Yad Mordechai and Netiv Ha’Asara?

Where the incoming missile sirens blared yesterday.

Where the incoming missile sirens blared yesterday.

Of course, we knew as soon as the sirens sounded that the IDF spokesman would declare them a false alarm (after all, Hamas is now buddy-buddy with the IDF).

And so he did, but not before residents in the area reported hearing a loud missile impact explosion.

5 children who were attending a birthday party in the area had to be treated for trauma by emergency MADA personnel.

–Or how about with yesterday’s “balloon” incendiary terror which saw three more large fires started in Gaza border communities?

And scores of other fires started in southern and central Israel at such places as Kibbutz Gevim (2 “balloons” with grenades), on Highway 34, and even at Moshav Ben Zakai near Yavne.

Or how about with more successful terrorist breaches of the border fence?

The following video produced by Hamas “Quds Force” was made yesterday. As you watch, notice how easily the terrorist cut through the fence, how casually they walk along inside of Israel, and how they plant explosive devices along the road there:

–Or how about the massive number of explosions along the border last night as terrorists hurled grenades, IEDs, bombs, and other “items” at our soldiers?

An unexploded grenade from last night. If you can believe this, our soldiers go out every morning and collect all of the unexploded grenades and IEDs, truck them to a secure location, and then explode them.

An unexploded grenade from last night. If you can believe this, our soldiers go out every morning and collect all of the unexploded grenades and IEDs, truck them to a secure location, and then explode them.

Missile strikes, fire terror, breaching the fence, explosive attacks on our troopsdo you get the feeling, dear reader, that the situation on the Gaza border is totally out of control?

Of course it is, and our government has no response except to give the terrorists in Gaza more “humanitarian” supplies with which to attack us, more “humanitarian” fuel with which to operate their missile launchers, and more, more, and more . . .

In Judea and Samaria:

Israeli civilians and soldiers were attacked with Molotovs and “rocks’ between Jam’in and Tapuach, at Tekoa, Silwad, Qalqilya, Beit Furik, Itamar, Na’alim, Sinjil, Herodion, Deir Abu Mash’al, the entrance to the southern tunnel in Gush Etzion, between Jaba and Luban a-Sharqiya, Adam, and scores of other places.

In the above attacks reported to Rescue Judea and Samaria, rotter, and hakolhayehudi, Israelis were wounded (“rock” wounds in the head and torso), and more than 10 were treated for trauma.

It’s that time of year again . . .

. . . when we all remember Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination 23 years ago on November 4, 1995. It was a horrible moment in Israeli history, but unfortunately, the left-wing partiesled by Rabin’s own familyhave taken over the ceremonies honoring his memory with vicious attacks on PM Netanyahu and others on the opposite side of the political spectrum.

In a speech at the cabinet meeting last night, Netanyahu noted how he now has become the subject of death threats with leftist demonstrators at Rabin rallies carrying pictures of him with a rope around his neck and even erecting a guillotine to “execute” him.

Netanyahu also noted how Rabin’s granddaughter recently wrote: “Maybe the murder of Netanyahu is only a day away.”

Speaking of the cabinet meeting . . .

The subject of Khan Al Ahmar arose again and provoked bitter debate with Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked arguing vehemently that the illegal Palestinian settlement should be immediately razed, and Netanyahu and his minions arguing that the evacuation and razing should be postponed for a month because of the “sensitivity and symbolism” of Khan Al-Ahmar “in terms of the Palestinians and the international community.”

Netanyahu and his group also delusionally and ludicrously argued that if Israel gives the Palestinians 4 more weeks, then they might decide to leave on their own.

So what did the cabinet decide?

They waited until Bennett and Shaked left the room on short errands and then voted to postpone action for one month.

Speaking of Khan Al-Ahmar . . .

. . . the international community has been sending millions of euros to the settlement to expand its infrastructure and help its “poor” citizens.

But guess where the money has been going?

Straight into the pockets of the PLO’s point person on Khan Al-Ahmar, Walid Assaf,  and his family–a fact noted by a Palestinian cartoonist yesterday:

First a picture of the Walid Assaf:

real

And now the cartoon:

The cartoon is self explanatory. Walid is taking all the money for Khan Al Ahmar for himself.

The cartoon is self explanatory. Assaf is taking all the money for Khan Al Ahmar for himself.

Isn’t it amazing how the Europeans and other Palestinian donors still don’t get it after decades of Palestinian corruption?

Lara Al-Qasem runs into turbulence at Hebrew University . . .

Al-Qasem’s first day of classes were marked by demonstrations against her on campus. Student protesters were carrying this sign:

laraq

The sign refers to the fact that Al-Qasem has expressed admiration and support for a Palestinian terrorist who murdered two Hebrew University students.

Let’s hope that every day of of the slimy Al-Qasem’s “studies” at Hebrew University is marked by such protests.

“Moderate” Jordan Cancels Part of Its Peace Treaty With Israel

As regular readers of israelstreet know, your humble servant despises Jordan.

From the moment that the Jordanians attacked the young reborn state of Israel in 1948, to its ethnic cleansing of all Jews from the Old City of Jerusalem and dynamiting and desecrating of all of our holy places there from 1948-1967, to its continuous attempts to delegitimize Israel in every international arena, to its vicious attempt to exert sovereignty over the Temple Mount, every step that Jordan takes shows it to an extremist foe of Israel and Jews.

How Jordan has ever been described as “moderate’ is beyond your humble servant’s comprehension.

One supposes that the “moderate” label comes from the fact that Jordan stooped to sign a peace treaty with us back in 1994–a peace treaty that was all to the detriment of Israel and all to the benefit of the Jordanians.

One element of that treaty was that Jordan would allow Israel to lease two tiny parcels of land that we had captured in 1967: Naharayim south of the Kineret, and Zofar north of Eilat.

Naharayim is particularly close to Israeli hearts. It contains the so-called “Island of Peace” where a Jordanian soldier barbarically opened fire on a group of teenaged Israeli school girls on a school trip in 1997, murdering seven of them.

The dead girls pictured at the top . . .

A headline from that awful day. The dead girls pictured at the top.

A park was built on the spot of the murders; each girl’s name is written in Hebrew on a white-capped surface:

memorial

The 1994 treaty called for the leases on the two areas to be for 25 years with the option to renew at the end of that period. It was believed that the option would be renewed in perpetuity.

Yesterday, King Abdullah announced that there will be no renewal, and that Jordan is kicking the Israelis out as of October of next year when the 25 year period ends.

We can also imagine that when that happens, the first thing the Jordanians will do is rip out the park aboveand replace it with a park honoring the Jordanian who murdered the seven girls.

Such is the Kingdom of Jordan . . . rotten to the core.
