The Absurd Photo Of The Day

A photo of a BDS sign on the side of a bus in Dublin, Ireland today.

A photo of a BDS sign on the side of a bus in Dublin, Ireland today. Look closely at the picture on the right hand side of the sign.

The obvious impetus for the above BDS “advertisement” is the Eurovision Contest taking place in Israel at this moment–a competition that BDS was singularly unsuccessful in stopping.

The absurdity of the sign is that the photo shows an IDF soldier gently taking a young Palestinian boy away from a scene of violence in Hevron–not torturing him as the canard on the sign suggests.

By the way, the boy in the photograph is none other than Abdullah Dwaik. Just like Ahed Tamimi, Abdullah is a Pallywood star who has a personal photographer who follows him around as he tries to provoke Israeli soldiers.

Abdullah is the son of Badia Dwaik who bills himself as “Coordinator of Human Rights Defenders Group in Palestine, and who spends most of his time traveling outside of Israel supporting BDS.

The News On the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

On the Gaza border:

Dozens of more innocuous looking balloon clusters were launched out of Gaza yesterday and today–with disastrous results.

In Judea and Samaria:

As we noted yesterday, the fire plague has spread to Judea and Samaria.

This fire was started by Palestinian arsonists today. That is the community of Yitzhar on top of the hill in the background.

Meanwhile, Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis with “rocks” and Molotovs at such places as just outside of Tekoa, at Adam, Al-Aruv, Hizma, and at the Jewish Cemetery in Hevron.

How does Hamas get its weapons? . . .

In our last mini-war two weeks ago, one of the new weapons that Hamas unveiled was “drone-bombs”. The terrorists simply attached a bomb to a drone (much like attaching one to a balloon cluster), then flew the drone to a particular spot and let it hover there before dropping its explosive cargo.

It turns out that items such as drones are being smuggled into Gaza, but not through tunnels. They are simply being mailed to addresses in Israel and then transported through border crossings such as the Erez Crossing into Gaza.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Military weapons and parts are simply being mailed to Israel and transported by truck into Gaza right under the noses of border inspectors.

It is now being reported by COGAT, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, that contained in 250 postal bags delivered through the Erez Crossing last Wednesday alone were 172 mail packages containing military weapons. Many of the 172 items–including drones–were ordered through the Alibaba online site.

Note

Dutch Parliamentarian Tunahan Kuzu walking around with a PLO flag in the Old City.

As you may not know, Kuzu makes his political living by castigating Israel. Back in September 2016, he became known as the one Dutch legislator who refused to shake the hand of PM Netanyahu before a meeting of the Dutch Parliament. Kuzu was actually born in Turkey and is a big supporter of Turkish dictator Reycip Erdogan.

In any case, he was briefly detained by the police you see in the picture when he refused to end his provocation with the PLO flag.

He should have been deported.

Further Confirmed: Our Suspicions About Duma

As you may have forgotten by now, the trial of Amiram Ben-Uliel grinds on. After the detention and torture of dozens of Jewish youth in Judea and Samaria, Ben-Uliel became the only person charged in the firebombing of the Dawabshe house in Duma back in July 2015.

He was charged after confessing to the crime; however, his confession was thrown out of court because he was tortured to get it. Nevertheless, he has now spent more than 3 years in prison.

From the outset, your humble servant pointed out that the Dawabshe firebombing was most likely the work of a rival clan in Duma, and that in fact, numerous firebombings have taken place over the years. For example on May 11th last year, another home belonging to the Dawabshe family was destroyed by fire.

Here are links to some our previous blogs on the Dawabshe case:

Remarkably, new testimony has emerged in recent days from an Arab neighbor of the Dawabshe family in Duma.

In an extensive interview, that neighbor declared that no Jews were involved in the firebombing which he says was the work of Arab arsonistsjust like we have described all along on israelstreet.

But don’t expect this new testimony to have any effect on the trial of Amiram. From the outset, the Israeli investigative and judicial system has been hell-bent on finding a scapegoat and Amiram Ben-Uliel is that person.
