Hilarious Quote of the Day:

“More than 70% of families in Gaza suffer from food shortages because of the Israeli blockade on Gaza which began 13 years ago.”

Jamal al-Khodari, Hamas People’s Committee on the Blockade

Actually, Gaza and Areas A and B of Judea and Samaria are among the most obese places on the planet. According to past statistics from the World Health Organization, the Palestinians have the 8th highest obesity rate in the world.

The WHO notes that “leisure-time physical activity is not a common concept in the Palestinian context.”

In other words, the Palestinians are eating more and exercising less.

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 48 hours . . .

Along the Gaza border:

More terrorists with yet another baloon bomb on the Gaza border today (photo source on photo).

More terrorists with yet another balloon bomb on the Gaza border today (Gaza photo source in lower right hand corner–and Israeli source in middle of photo).

The scourge of explosive balloons continues with Israel finally delivering a message to Hamas via Egyptian intelligence that “the IDF will respond vigorously if the explosives and bomb blasts continue.”

This ridiculous warning (why does it have to go through Egypt? and why haven’t we already vigorously responded?) follow numerous blasts especially in and around Sderot.

Israeli exports decrease . . .

As is true with other countries around the world, Israel saw a decrease in exports in 2019. Compared to 2018, exports decreased by 6.1% (a dollar amount estimated to be 13.7 billion shekels).

By comparison, exports from Asian countries declined 11.3%, from the U.S. 5.8%, and from the rest of the world about 7%.

The news from around the neighborhood . . .

*The Jordanian Parliament voted yesterday to cancel the recently signed natural gas agreement with Israel. Whether the country will actually cancel the deal, however, depends on King Abdullah.

Actually, the new base replaces an older one that had been there for decades and fallen into disuse. Six more “new ports” are currently being constructed by the Egyptians in the Red and Mediterranean Seas as Egypt seeks to become a regional naval power.

And finally . . . amazing animal tales . . .

First today we have this video of an IDF sailor rescuing a sea turtle off the coast of Ashdod yesterday.

Second, how about this amazing video of an Israeli marsh cat dragging away a crane up near Ahula.
