The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

In Judea and Samaria:

For the last three days, we have followed the missile attacks emanating from Palestinian Hamas Gaza very closely and not reported on the terrorism emanating from PLO-controlled Areas A and B of Judea and Samaria.

These are 25 of the dozens of places where Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli women, men, and children: Ofra, Neve Tzuf, Road 465, Silwad, Al-Fawwar, Hevron, the Hevron Bypass Road, Sinjil, Halhul Bridge, Road 55 near Azzun, Road 443 beside Khirbat, Neve Yair, Beit El, Pisgamim, Kiryat Arba, Nabi Saleh, Ajah, Al-Aruv, Beitin, Road 446 near Na’alin, Deir Kadis, Luban A-Sharqiya, just outside of Ramallah, and Tekoa.

Along the Gaza Border:

24 hours ago, Palestinian terrorists were still firing barrages of missiles into southern Israel. As we reported yesterday at midnight Israel time, 112 missiles and mortars were fired during this last mini-war.

112 missiles and mortars.

And guess what happened this morning? The IDF opened all crossings into Gaza and continued shipping goods into it.

Notice the word “continued”. Even while the missile barrages were taking place, Israel never stopped shipping goods into Hamas Gaza.

Unbelievable.

This morning the so-called Al-Nasser Balloon Unit in Gaza issued a statement saying; “We are preparing large quantities of explosive balloons to become Netanyahu’s nightmare during the election period.”

Netanyahu’s nightmare? Netanyahu is safely tucked away in Jerusalem or elsewhere. The explosive balloon scourge is the nightmare of Israelis living along the border.

Great news in E1 . . .

Apparently a new building permit for 3500 new Jewish homes in the E1 area near Maale Adumim will be issued. As you may not remember, this is in the area where the EU has built the illegal Palestinian settlement of Khan Al-Ahmar.

This E1 area is to northern Jerusalem what the Har Homa area is to southern Jerusalem.  Just like the new homes in Har Homa will stop Bethlehem from connecting with the Arab neighborhoods in southeastern Jerusalem, the new homes in E1 will stop Ramallah from connecting with the Arab neighborhoods in northeastern Jerusalem.

TODAY’S BLOG:

1,542 Days: Free Amiram Ben Uliel!

Amiram ben Uliel.

Amiram Ben Uliel.

Try to wrap your mind around this dear reader.

1,542 days ago (4 years, 2 months, and 19 days) Amiram ben Uliel was “detained” by Israel’s Shin Bet Service. During the next month, he and other young men were tortured until finally Amiram and another young man confessed to the crime of arson at Duma (click here to read about the Duma incident).

In January 2016, Amiram and the other young man were indicted.

In 2018, the trial of Amiram and the other young man began. Almost immediately, the confessions they had made under torture were thrown out. The young man was released, but Amiram was kept in prison because the prosecution claimed it had enough evidence to convict him without the confession.

Now it is 2020, and according to Amiram’s wife, he still sits in prison “in solitary confinement, with no telephone, visits only behind a partition, closed up all day in a tiny cell” and only seeing daylight a couple of minutes a day through bars.

There is now tons of exculpatory evidence that should have freed Amiram years ago, but he still languishes in prison. His trial creeps on, and obviously, he has never been convicted of anything.

But the government refuses to let him go.

It is beyond understanding.

It was announced today that Amiram is being moved to a new prison near Beersheva–one that it will make it even more difficult for his wife and 5 year old daughter to visit.

Amiram should have never been arrested in the first place, and he should have never been behind bars for over 4 years. His continued imprisonment is a stain on the Israel judicial system.

Free him now!
