UPDATES 9:00 am Israel time, Monday, June 30 2014:

**The already intolerable situation here in the south is rapidly becoming unliveable.

Southern Israel continues to be hit by missile after missile fired by Hamas-PLO Palestinian terrorists in Gaza. In the last 24 hours alone, 25 missiles and mortars have struck the Eshkol region, the northern Negev, and the Ashkelon Beach region. The missiles are typically coming in barrages of 2 to 4 missiles every few hours.

The areas being hit the hardest are from south to north (graphic: Jewish Virtual Library).

The areas being hit the hardest are from south to north: Eshkol, Netivot, Sderot, and Ashkelon Beach–just south of the city of Ashkelon (graphic: Jewish Virtual Library).

The last missile strike took place in Re’im (northern Negev) about 50 minutes ago.

Israeli residents in the border communities are now virtually living in their bomb shelters. Nevertheless, schools in the south have continued to operate as today is the last day of the Israeli school year. The children simply have to have classes in the school’s bomb shelter–if they have one.

Children in southern Israel are spending much of their school day like this.

How bad does it have to get here before the Netanyahu government takes aggressive action?

But wait, the Netanyahu government has taken action today by opening the Kerem Shalom Crossing from Israel into Gaza to allow in agricultural foods, cooking gas, and gasoline. After all, the terrorists shooting missiles at us must be well fed–and must be able to use their motorcycles and cars to get to their launch sites.

Unbelievable.

**A rally with tens of thousands of Israelis took place in Tel Aviv last night in support of the three kidnapped Israeli teenagers. It was a moving experience with songs, poems, and appearances by the mothers of the kidnapped young men. Here are some pictures from the event:

Despite the level of support, it was somewhat disappointing to see that most of those at the rally were young members of the so-called “nationalist camp” (identified by the fact that they wear kippas). Where were all of the leftist Israelis who always cry about the “human rights” of Palestinians?

The search continued in Hebron and environs overnight with the father of Marwan Kawasma, one of the two primary suspects in the kidnapping, being arrested.

Marwan Kawasma: the latest in long line of Kawasma terrorists.

Marwan Kawasma: the latest in long line of Kawasma terrorists.

Lest you think that this is some barbaric action on the part of Israeli security forces, consider the following.

The Kawasma clan is a family of terrorists. According to information released by the Shin Bet yesterday, the Kawasmas built the terror structure of Hamas in Hebron and have been personally responsible for the murders of more than 100 Israelis and the woundings of hundreds more.

Abdullah Kawasma, Marwan’s uncle, was responsible for the Adora attack which killed 4 Israelis and wounded 7, the Vineyard attack which killed 3 and wounded 5, and the Pisgat Ze’ev bus bombing which killed 9. Eventually he was captured and imprisoned, but was one of the was one of 415 terrorists who was expelled to Lebanon in 1992 only to eventually return.

Mahmoud Kawasma was responsible for, among other terrorist attacks, the explosion on Bus Line 37 in Haifa that murdered 19 Israelis.

Basil Kawasma was involved in numerous terrorist attacks including a bombing in the French Hill neighborhood in Jerusalem that killed 7 Israelis and wounded dozens more.

Raad Kawasma carried out the suicide bus bombing on Bus No. 2 in Jerusalem that killed 23 Israelis and wounded more than 130 more.

Fuad Kawasma carried out the murder suicide attack in Hebron that killed Gadi and Dina Levi.

Imad Kawasma organized a suicide attack in Beersheva that resulted in the murders of 16 Israelis and the wounding of more than 100.

The Kawasma family organized the suicide bombing on Bus 14 in Jerusalem on June 11, 2003 that murdered 17 Israelis and wounded more than 100.

The list goes on and on.

Perhaps the most ominous Kawasma family terrorist attempt insofar as the current situation is concerned was the capture of Fares Kawasma six years ago for his part in planning to kidnap and murder Jews. His plan was to kidnap a Jew, kill him secretly, and then negotiate for his release having Israelis think the kidnapped Jew was still alive.

Obviously this does not bode well for our missing three teenagers.
