Ya’alon’s Astonishing “Duma” Admission Yesterday

UPDATES

**The daily Palestinian terror report . . .

During one eight hour stretch yesterday–between 2 pm and 10 pm–Palestinian terrorists assaulted Israeli civilians and security forces with “rocks” in the Old City of Jerusalem (9:38 pm); at Havat Gilad (8:37 pm); in Hebron (8:04 pm) and Mt. Hebron (6:58 pm), Karmi Tzur (6:36 pm), Genia (6:05 pm), Beit Haggai (2:15 pm).  Numerous Israelis were wounded, both physically and traumatically, in these “rock” attacks.

Palestinian terrorists also threw Molotov cocktails at IDF forces at Shechem (9:51 pm) and at Shavei Shomron (8:48 pm).

**Take a look again at most of the locations in the terrorist attack litany above: Havat Gilad, Hebron, Mt. Hebron, Karmi Tzur, Genia, Beit Haggai, Shechem, Shavei Shomron.

Where are all of these places? In Judea and Samaria.

In an amazingly idiotic decision yesterday, the IDF decided to reopen the so-called “Beitin Road” from Ramallah to Beitin to Palestinian traffic. This road is in the heart of Judea and Samaria and had been closed for 15 years because it was used by terrorists to attack Jewish communities.

Had been closed until three months ago when the IDF decided to reopen the road, but then closed it again on the same day when a terrorist shooting attack took place near Beit El. And now, not having learned anything from experience, the COGAT unit of the IDF has opened the road again.

Let’s see how long it takes for another terrorist attack to take place along the Beitin Road.

**Hamas continues probing Israeli defenses along the Gaza border . . .

Two more armed Hamas terrorists were captured yesterday, bringing t0 14 the number that have been captured in the last 5 days alone. Most of them infiltrated Israel between Kissufim and Ein Shlosha in the Besor River area.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Army announced yesterday that it had destroyed five more tunnels leading from Gaza into Egypt. Inside those tunnels were 13 cars and 67 motorcycles earmarked for Hamas and other terror organizations. Oh and by the way, Egypt said that it also killed 27 terrorists in the same tunnels.

**Did anyone seriously think . . .

. . . that the United Nations would vote against flying the Palestinian flag?  Of course not. Given the chance, the U.N. would vote tomorrow morning to eradicate Israel from the map and put every Jew who lives here on trial for crimes against humanity–just for being alive.

So when it came to a vote yesterday on the subject of whether the flag of a “non-member observer state” (aka “Palestine”) should fly over the U.N. headquarters, it should come as no surprise that the final vote was 119 in favor, 8 against, 45 abstaining.

Who were the lonely 8 that voted against the proposal? Israel, Canada, Australia, the United States, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, and Tuvalu.

**Where is another place aside from the Middle East where a resounding defeat is touted as a major victory?

The White House.

All of Barack Obama and John Kerry’s efforts to consolidate and advance Iranian nuclear infrastructure and release funds for Iranian worldwide terrorism came to fruition yesterday as the U.S. Senate voted 58-42 to stop the Democratic Iranian Nuclear Appeasement Agreement.

Say what?

That’s right. Despite losing the vote decisively, Obama and Kerry won because they were able to get enough Democratic votes to ensure that they can filibuster against the bill in the Senate. In essence, that kills the bill and caused cheering in the White House and State Department.

And so, the egregiously unseemly legislative spectacle of an American president and Secretary of State fighting tooth and nail for the emergence of a terrorist regional superpower comes to an end.

Just remember, every time in the coming years that you hear that Iran has sent its forces into another country, that Iranian terrorists have attacked in some city around the world, that Iran has broken the “Agreement” that it signed and is producing nuclear arms willy nilly–remember that all of this is the result of Barack Obama, John Kerry, and their pusillanimous Democratic minions in the U.S. Congress.

**Speaking of Iranian forces invading other countries . . .

. . . nowhere is this more true at the moment than in Syria where Iran has now rushed in its “elite” Quds forces to fight alongside Russian forces in defense of Syrian dictator Assad.

Why is this intervention necessary? Because of the astonishing failure of Hezbollah and the Syrian Army to stop the Syrian “rebels”.

There was a gruesome illustration of this fact yesterday at a funeral in the Hezbollah section of Beirut:

What's in the box being held by the Shiite cleric? The head of a Hezbollah soldier killed in Syria two weeks ago. The soldier's body was buried last week, and his head was shipped back yesterday (apologies for the blurry photo).

As has been reported previously on israelstreet, scores of headless Hezbollah soldiers are now being shipped from Syria back to Lebanon for burial.

**Thank goodness someone is doing something for the poor Muslim refugees pouring into Europe . . .

Saudi Arabia has stepped up to the plate and announced that it will build 200 new mosques across Europe to accommodate the new arrivals.

Talk about Europe having reached a tipping point.  The Europe that we all grew up with is no more.

TODAY’S BLOG:

In a positively astonishing interview yesterday, our so-called “Defense” Minister Moshe Ya’alon revealed heretofore unknown facts about the fire at Duma which has resulted in the deaths of three Palestinians.

According to Ya’alon, “several Jews” have been “arrested” for the crime, but none have been formally charged and indicted. Ya’alon would not reveal their names.

Ya’alon went on to say that none of those “arrested” (or should we say “detained”) have any connection whatsoever to Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria nor do they have any connection to what the media likes to call “the price tag” movement.

Let me repeat that again in different words.

None of the some 30 Jewish youth from “hilltop” Jewish communities who have been administratively detained over the last six weeks have any connection to the Duma crime.

So why are these 30 Jewish youth sitting in prison or living under house arrest?

Here’s Ya’alon’s unbelievable explanation:

“We have carried out no small number of administrative detentions in order to not reveal intelligence sources.”

Say what?

In order to not reveal intelligence sources, completely innocent Israelis are having their civil rights trampled upon by the “Defense” Minister and the Attorney General.

Your flabbergasted humble servant can only think of two words to describe this grand miscarriage of justice: “criminally outrageous”.

Moshe Ya’alon and Yehuda Weinstein should be hauled into court forthwith to defend their indefensible actions.

So who, according to Ya’alon, is responsible for the Duma attack?

“We are convinced that the attack was carried out by Jews. We are talking about an extremist group who decided to ignite the region, with the intention of taking lives.”

“We are convinced.” Really? Let’s see the proof Moshe.

*israelstreet thanks Arutz Sheva for elements of today’s blog.
