TODAY’S BLOG:

Today has seen clashes on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This is in the face of appalling discrimination against Jews which stops most of them from even getting on the Mount.

Thus far over the Passover holiday period, exactly 250 Jews have have been permitted to Judaism’s holiest site.

Think about that number for a moment.

Think about the fact that the Israeli government buses in 200 Hamas members from Gaza each week so that they can worship on the Temple Mount.

Think about the fact that the Israeli government permitted more than 1,000,000 Muslims to come and worship on the Temple Mount during the last Ramadan period.

It is simply outrageous that on the holiday of Passover, or at any other time, virtually no Jews are allowed on the Mount.

So what caused the clashes today? 8 Jews bowed and recited a Jewish prayer. They were immediately surrounded by dozens of Muslims who assaulted them while yelling “Allahu Akbar” and “With our blood we will redeem Al-Aksa.”

All 8 Jews were arrested.

2 of the Muslims who assaulted them were arrested.

This afternoon the Israel and Jerusalem police issued this absurd statement:

“The police are prepared, as it has been throughout the holiday, to allow all visitors of all religions and ethnicities to practice their religion and rituals freely.”

What a sad commentary. At a place of Israeli sovereignty and a place which is the holiest place in Judaism, only 250 Jews have been allowed on the Mount and none have been able “to practice their religion and rituals freely.”

But that hasn’t stopped the Jordanians from making preposterous statements.

Jordanian Minister for Media Affairs and government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani declared that Israel is “breaching international law” by allowing any Jews on the Mount. He demanded that Israeli authorities immediately prevent the entry of all Jews–and that Palestinians be allowed to come to the Mount at will and perform their ritual practices.

Unbelievable.
