UPDATES 6 pm Israel time

…Palestinian terror today (so far)…

About two hours ago, a young man was stabbed in the chest and neck in a terror attack at Emek Hefer Industrial Park. The victim is reported in “serious condition”, and there is a manhunt underway for the terrorist.

…Palestinian terror yesterday…

Israelis were attacked with “rocks” and Molotov firebombs in Burin, Silwan, on Route 443 near Beit Horon, Adam, Tekoa, Shuafat, the Mt. of Olives, Ras al-Amud, Umm Safa, and Tubas.

At 10:10 pm last night, Israeli motorists near Hawara came under fire from terrorists in an attempted murder.

…Palestinian terror in Jordan…

Palestinians in the Al-Baka Palestinian suburb 20 km north of Amman welcomed in Ramadan by killing three Jordanian intelligence officers and two government officials.

…Kudos to the state of New York!…

Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York signed legislation yesterday that states that any company that boycotts Israel will be boycotted by New York.

It is the largest blow yet against the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions movement which has seen increasing legislation targeting its discriminatory and anti-Semitic attempts to target Israel.

…You’ll be driving “Israeli” some day soon if not already…

With numerous Israeli start-ups hard at work in the fields of  image processing, optics, radar, and chip design, the future of cars is effectively in the hands of Israelis. The sensors and “brain” of the car you drive in the future will probably be Israeli.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The degree to which the Israeli government in general and the Jerusalem police in particular have been cowed by Muslim threats of violence is simply astonishing.

Yesterday, 307 Jews were able to go up to the Temple Mount during the day–and then only for a moment as Jerusalem police rushed them away as Ramadan approached.

As it turned out, those paltry 307 Jews should have been happy because the police announced later in the day that during the entire month of Ramadan–the next 30 days–that no Jews would be permitted on the Mount except during the hours of 7:30–11:30 am on certain mornings (as yet unspecified).

In other words, the already highly restricted hours during which Jews can visit the holiest place in Judaism–a site supposedly under Israeli sovereignty–just became even more restrictive.

Even more restrictive than at many other times in history when the Mount was not under Israeli or Jewish sovereignty. A few examples (your humble servant recommends this article for further reading):

–during the period between the First and Third Jewish wars, even the Romans permitted Jews unfettered access to the Mount.

–during the period of the first Muslim conquest of Jerusalem from 638 CE to 691 CE, even the Muslims permitted Jews unfettered access to the Mount.

–during the period immediately following Saladin’s victory over the Crusaders, even Saladin permitted Jews unfettered access to the Mount.

–during the time of the British Mandate, even the British permitted Jews to go to the Mount daily.

And look at what we have now.

An Israeli government that kowtows to the international community and to the Islamic Wakf and refuses to stand up for Jewish rights.

It is a situation which is simply pathetic.
