NUMBER OF DAYS UNTIL THE ISRAELI ELECTION: 28
ISRAELSTREET endorses NAFTALI BENNETT for Prime Minister
Head of “HaBayit HaYehudi” (The Jewish Home) political party
UPDATES 5 pm Israel time Sunday:
*The new Egyptian Constitution based on Shariah Law has been approved. Almost immediately, we will begin to see an assault against “minority” rights focusing on women and Christians.
*This afternoon, the Iranian Foreign Minister “retasked” Hezbollah, informing it that its mission is no longer to “liberate Palestine” but instead to fight against the “free Syrian Army.”
*A Turkish diplomatic source has revealed that Turkey is no longer “vetoing” cooperation between NATO and Israel. How are we to interpret this? Obviously, as has been reported previously in this blog, Israel is on the verge of issuing an absurd apology to Turkey over the Mavi Marmara incident in which Turkish terrorists attempted to break the Gaza blockade.
*Most of the Palestinian terrorist incidents in the last 24 hours have taken place in Jerusalem with Molotov cocktails thrown at a French Hill gasoline station and a Jerusalem taxi driver being shot after trying to run over a Border Guard. Police have described the latter as being “nationalistically” motivated.
*There are reports today of Palestinian on Palestinian violence in Shechem (Nablus)–with some describing what is taking place as the beginning of a Hamas attempt to “stage a coup” against Mahmoud Abbas and the PLO–similar to what occurred in Gaza some years ago.
*On the Israeli political scene, the attack on Naftali Bennett for his remarks concerning conscientious objectors continues unabated with Likud Beiteinu representatives keeping up a steady drumbeat of false accusations. Amir Peretz, the former Labor minister who switched to the Tzipi Livni party, has launched an attack of his own this morning on Shelly Yachimovich (the head of the Labor party).
TODAY’S BLOG:
Your humble servant was struck by three declarations made by PLO leaders yesterday.
First we had this delusional assertion by Mahmoud Abbas:
Mental disturbances or disorders are very much the same, aside from Tadalafil’s lower cost. pfizer viagra price viagra, or Tadalafil, can be purchased from a number of different medicines that claim to have anti erectile dysfunction qualities. So, it’s important to differentiate anxiety disorders from anxiety for a healthy body and mind. levitra 40 mg Pregnancy does not provide a woman an extra shield from cheap viagra canada Check Prices STD. Orthopedic Physical Care Among some of the cialis 5 mg secretworldchronicle.com most common and effective method of curing the disease right from its roots.
“The upgrading of Palestinian Authority status in the United Nations is a significant turning pint in the conflict with Israel as we have become a country whose land is under occupation. The Israeli decision to build in E1 is a red line that we will not allow to happen.”
Second, we had Mahmoud Abbas’s spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeina, offering these delusional words of what will happen in the future:
“Israel and the settlers will answer for crimes of settlement on Palestinian land. There will not be one stone left from the settlement projects in the West Bank or in East Jerusalem. All settlements will be demolished to the ground.”
Third, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad chimed in with the standard Palestinian delusion:
“I condemn the settlement insult, especially in Jerusalem and Bethlehem which seeks to avoid the possibility of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty within the ’67 borders with its capital in Jerusalem. We will continue to act with determination to realize our goals, including the return of all Palestinian refugees and release of all Palestinian prisoners.”
The return of all Palestinian refugees? The release of all Palestinian prisoners? Crimes of settlement? Not be one stone left? All settlements will be demolished to the ground? We will not allow to happen?
64 years of Israeli existence have changed nothing in the Palestinian mindset. Generous Israeli offers of peace have changed nothing. Continuing concessions and gestures of peace have changed nothing.
The Palestinians are just as wedded to their delusions as they ever were. Those delusions, perpetuated by generation after generation of Palestinian leaders, work to the Palestinians’ eternal detriment–and take them farther and farther away from a peaceful accommodation with Israel.
But if there is one thing that has thankfully changed in the last 64 years it is that most Israelis are no longer wedded to our delusion of reaching peace with the Palestinians. We have come to know who the Palestinians are–even if the rest of the world does not.
