Violence continues to rage throughout Judea and Samaria with an attempted Palestinian infiltration with an IED and knife in the Jordan Valley, and terrorist “rock” assaults in Ofra, Yitzhar, and a dozen other places over the last 24 hours.

With every day that goes by, the extent of Benjamin Netanyahu’s utter capitulation to Hamas last month comes into sharper focus.

It wasn’t enough that Israel continued to supply Hamas with war materiel (metal for missiles) and money (millions of shekels) while the actual conflict was going on.

It wasn’t enough that to end the conflict, Netanyahu made southern Israel dependent on Egypt’s Islamist government for its security, or that Israel gave away its 300 meter buffer zone along the Gaza border fence, or that Israel allowed Hamas head Khaled Meshaal to come to Gaza to celebrate Gaza’s victory over Israel, or that Israel turned over an additional 3 km of maritime area all along the coast to Hamas.

Now it turns out that Israel is beginning to ease its blockade of Gaza in all directions. Not only will so-called “international aid” NGOs be allowed to import construction materials into Gaza, but also private Hamas individuals and companies will now be allowed to import materials into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing between Israel and Gaza.

And why is Israel doing all of this? According to an IDF Spokesman yesterday, Israel is easing restrictions because of “the dialogue, the conversation we have with the Egyptian side and because of the calm.”

The same idiotic spokesman continued: “If the calm will continue, then more eases will go through. We’re also working on improving the electricity system in the north of Gaza in order to promote and to improve the electricity in that area.”

Your humble servant just has one question this morning: What calm is there?

In the last 35 days, 35 missiles have been launched out of Gaza toward southern Israel–most recently 4 days ago. In the last 35 days, there have been at least 2 major infiltrations by Hamas terrorists into Israeli border communities. In the last 35 days there have been almost daily riots at the Gaza border fence in which numerous efforts have been made to breach the fence. In the last 35 days more missiles headed for Gaza have been intercepted in the Sinai. In the last 35 days, there has been speech after speech in Gaza by Hamas leaders calling for the elimination of Israel.

And for all of this, Israel is rewarding Hamas?

Your humble servant simply does not have the words to express his utter contempt for the Netanyahu government’s utterly failed policy with Hamas along Israel’s Gazan border.

As I have written before, it is no wonder that violence has broken out all over Judea and Samaria in the wake of Operation Pillar of Defense. Why wouldn’t it break out? Every terrorist in Judea and Samaria can see what Hamas has gained by resorting to violence. Every terrorist in Judea and Samaria can see they he or she has nothing to lose and everything to gain by confronting the current Israeli government.

This is why every person in southern Israel can see that Benjamin Netanyahu should not be the next Prime Minister of Israel–but if he is, that the Netanyahu coalition must be dramatically changed.
