UPDATES 6 pm Israel time Tuesday:
**The Egyptian Minister of Religious Affairs, Talaat Mohamed Afifi has declared in a local TV channel interview: “I dream to visit Israel, but only after Muslims have cleaned the land by slaughtering all the Jews.”
**Following PM Netanyahu’s absurd apology to the rabidly anti-Semitic, anti-Israel Turkish PM Erdogan, the Turkish government has added insult to injury, again. Israeli negotiators Yaakov Amidror and Joseph Ciechanover, who were supposed to leave for Ankara yesterday to incredibly discuss compensation for the terrorists killed on the Mavi Marmara, have been denied entrance into Turkey until April 22.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Your humble servant doesn’t know if you follow the breaking news ticker in the right hand column of this blog, but the last 24 hours have seen a rash of Palestinian attacks against the people of Israel.
In Judea and Samaria, Palestinian terrorists have been throwing Molotov cocktails at Rachel’s Tomb near Bethlehem and “rocks” at Israelis in such locations as Beit Ummar and Gat Junction. More than this, Palestinian terrorists have been captured armed with knives, Molotov cocktails, and IEDs at the Hawara and Bahad checkpoints.
On the Gaza border, Palestinian terrorists infiltrated the Gaza fence this morning and attempted to blow up an IDF bulldozer that was clearing vegetation.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Hamas terrorist missile war has restarted in earnest–barely reported in the Israeli media and totally unreported in the international media:
*At 8:27 pm Sunday night, Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired 3 rockets at Sha’ar Hanegev. There was little to no warning as the red siren system did not sound.
*At 9:31 pm last night, red warning sirens sounded in the Eshkol region sending Israeli men, women, and children fleeing to their bomb shelters. Local residents reported hearing two large missile impact explosions. Laughingly, the IDF then reported that the sirens were “a false alarm” (this was later amended to say that the IDF wasn’t sure if missiles had been fired or not).
*At 9:44 pm last night, again with no red siren warning, the residents of Kerem Shalom reported hearing “multiple explosions.”
*At 10:20 pm, in response to all of the Gazan missile fire that the IDF said is not happening, the IDF decided to return an Iron Dome battery to the Ashkelon area.
*Early this morning, two more missiles were launched out of Gaza toward southern Israel. Again, there were no warning sirens and no acknowledgement by the IDF. However, local residents took pictures of the incoming missiles (see above) and heard explosions when they hit.
Nine missile launches against southern Israel since Monday evening–with active suppression of information by the IDF of what is going on. And there has been no IDF military response whatsoever–unless you can call the temporary closing of the Kerem Shalom and Erez crossings “a military response”.
Absolutely, positively pathetic. The people of southern Israel on the border with Gaza are being used for target practice by Palestinian terrorists once again.
