The News on the Israel Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
*A gruesome stabbing murder at traffic intersection in Ariel, and more than 40 “rock” and Molotov attacks have marked the day.
At 2:30 pm this afternoon, 29-year-old Itamar Ben Gal of Mahar Bracha, a father of four, was standing on a sidewalk beside Jerusalem Boulevard in Ariel. A Palestinian terrorist crossed the road and stabbed him in the heart. He died shortly thereafter.
The murderer was seen running to the nearby Palestinian settlement of Kifl Haris and was pursued there by IDF troops–who are still engaged in a massive manhunt.* Meanwhile, several Jewish residents of the area attempted to block Palestinian motorists from entering or exiting Kifl Haris and were ludicrously arrested by Israel police.
In the meantime, the head of the IDF Central Command, General Roni Nuna arrived on the scene and was met with shouts of “Murder after murder. Because of you there is no deterrence.”
Ben Gal’s funeral will take place on Tuesday at 10 am in Har Bracha.
*Elsewhere, “rock” and Molotov attacks occurred at such places as Mevo Dotan, Nabi Saleh, Um Bitin (IDF soldier wounded), Burqin, Adam, Funduk, Ya’bad, Silwad, Salfit, A-Ram, Jilazon, Jenin, Ba’ali, Eli Zahav, and all along Road 443 and the highway between Gush Etzion and Hevron.
The PLO offers sympathy to the family of the dead terrorist . . .
As you may recall, one of the Palestinian terorists involved in the murder of Rabbi Shevach of Havat Gilad was killed in a firefight with IDF troops in Jenin several days ago.
Today, three senior Fatah members, Mahmud al-‘Alul member of the Central Committee and deputy chairman of Fatah, Jamal al-Hamsin a member of the Fatah Central Committee, and Dalal Salameh a member of the terrorists’ central committee arrived in Jenin to praise the murderer and his family.

Israel and Lebanon edge closer to war . . .
In the wake of the highly provocative maritime actions taken last week by the Lebanese government, the Lebanese demanded this morning that Israel immediately stop building a border security fence between Lebanon and Israel–and specifically that the IDF withdraw from 13 positions along the border.
The insanity of this demand, that Israel withdraw from positions on the Israel side of the border, cannot be overstated.
Meanwhile, the Netanyahu cabinet held a meeting this morning wholly focused on the deteriorating situation in Syria where Iranian Shi’ite forces are continuing their push to the Israel border, and the deteriorating situation in Lebanon where Hezbollah is hell-bent on setting up Iranian missile production facilities throughout the southern part of the country.

Palestinian Insanity At The Kerem Shalom Crossing Today
As you may or may not know, the Kerem Shalom Crossing is the main crossing through which Israel ferries so-called “humanitarian supplies” into the Palestinian state of Gaza.
Diesel fuel, food, medical supplies, clothing, building materials, and on and on are taken in by the truckload everyday. And when your humble servant writes “truckload”, he means “hundreds of trucks”.
As the IDF COGAT website notes: “every day an average of 800 trucks enter the Gaza Strip carrying food, medical equipment, fuel, building materials, agricultural inputs, textile products and more.”
In addition, the website describes: “Besides importing goods to Gaza, Kerem Shalom Crossing is also used for exporting goods from Gaza. At this stage, Gaza produces mainly agricultural products, iron, paper, and furniture. These goods are then sold in Israel, in Judea and Samaria, and internationally.”
And it is worthwhile pointing out that Palestinians seeking medical treatment in Israel are also transported through the Kerem Shalom Crossing.
All of which brings me to the announcement this morning that Kerem Shalom “is being closed due to humanitarian reasons.”
Say what?
What sort of Orwellian statement is this? A humanitarian crossing is being closed because of humanitarian reasons?
It is an Orwellian statement issued by Hamas. Hamas is closing down the Kerem Shalom Crossing because of “the humanitarian crisis” in Gaza.
Total Palestinian insanity.
And a totally fabricated humanitarian crisis.
*Addendum: The Palestinian terrorist murderer of Itamar Ben Gal has apparently been captured. It turns out that he held both a Palestinian and Israeli identity card, by virtue of the fact that his father is a Palestinian from Shechem (Nablus), and his mother is apparently an Israeli-Arab.
