Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

*Palestinian terrorists attacked Border Police at Abu Dis, Issawiya, and Beit Anun among other places.

*Palestinian terrorists tried to kill Israeli men, women, and children at Al-Mu’ayyir, El Aruv, Yitzhar, Hevron, Tekoa, Hawara, the Tapuach Junction, Hizma, and at Qalandiya among many other places.

No Israeli was physically wounded in the above attacks, but numerous Israelis were treated for trauma.

*Palestinian terrorists cut down 140 grape vines in an orchard at Moshav Tomer in the Jordan Valley.

There is nothing new about Palestinian agricultural terrorism, but the irony is that the media never covers it–preferring instead to fraudulently accuse “Jews” of destroying olive orchards.

Speaking of terrorists . . .

Mahmoud Abbas, the Chairman of the PLO and unelected dictator of Areas A and B of Judea and Samaria, has just lost his Jordanian citizenship.

Interestingly, Jordan has not only revoked Abbas’ citizenship, but also that of 30 top Palestinian officials and their families.

Is Jordan taking sides in the row between the PLO and Hamas? Or is Jordan signaling that any thought of a confederation between Jordan and the Palestinians is a non-starter? No one knows–except the Jordanians.

What’s going on between Presidents Trump and Macron vis a vis Iran? . . .

We all know how many times President Trump has called the Iran Appeasement Agreement the worst deal ever made, and we all know that President Macron is adamantly opposed to ending the Agreement.

At the moment, and this can change by the moment, it would appear that President Trump has agreed to renew the Agreement and even sign on to Iran’s acquisition of ballistic missiles in return for Macron’s going along with constructing a new Iranian deal.

If this is the case, this represents a significant change in Trump’s position–and one that is distinctly unfavorable to Israel.

Two More Bizarre Court Cases: A Palestinian Terrorist Released, An Israeli Border Guard Imprisoned

The series of mind-boggling court cases continues with two more decided yesterday that have left your humble servant shaking his head at how low the Israel judical system has fallen.

Let’s begin in Netanya.

Yesterday, Judge Etty Kreif of the Netanya Magistrate’s Court ordered a Palestinian terrorist immediately released.

Here are the facts.

Last July, two armed Palestinians from Tulkarm broke into the home of an elderly Holocaust survivor who lives in nearby Moshav Beit Yitzhak. Unfortunately for them, the elderly Israeli man was also armed.

The Israeli fired twice, killing one at the scene and seriously wounding the other.

The wounded man escaped, only to be caught shortly thereafter by the Police. Obviously, when the terrorist was caught he had the gunshot wound that he had received. He also still had the tools he used to break into the house.

What is more, the police found “shoe prints” at the scene that matched the shoes that he was wearing.

Nevertheless, the prosecutor decided not to charge the Palestinian with terrorism but instead with “committing an outburst”, damage to property, and “possession of burglary devices.”

At trial yesterday, the Judge ordered the Palestinian immediately released declaring in her dumbfounding decision: “I thought that it was wrong to identify the defendant as the other person who was shot at home.”

Say what? How it is possible that the judge could not make an identification? The man had a bullet in him fired from the gun of the homeowner.

Simply, utterly unbelievable.

Let’s move now to case number two.

Four years ago, Palestinian riots were taking place all over Israel “in commemoration of” Nakba Day. One of the most violent was at Beituniya.

Border Policeman Ben Dari was sent along with six other Border Policemen to man a post overlooking the central road in Beituniya in order to stop the violence from spreading.  Dari was a squad commander; he and each of his men were armed with M-16s. The ammunition they carried were live bullets and rubber bullets.

Dari gave the order to his men to only use rubber bullets.

The situation quickly deteriorated with rioters approaching to within 60 meters of the the soldiers’ position. The soldiers were pelted with “rocks” and other projectiles; their lives were in danger, but they continued using rubber bullets.

Seconds later, the position was charged by a rioter. Dari, who had recently reloaded his weapon, fired. However, it turned out that in the pressure of the moment he had accidentally reloaded with live bullets. The rioter was killed.

Incredibly, after the incident, Dari was arrested by military authorities and charged with murder. At trial, he pointed out that he had made an accidental mistake.

The judges in the case found Dari guilty of manslaughter yesterday. He was sentenced to time served and an additional nine months. He was also ordered to pay 50,000 shekels.

An observer of the judicial proceedings spoke for many of us yesterday when he said:

“It is a disgrace that a fighter who was there for all of us finds himself sent to prison for long months. Once again the system is confused between those who fight to destroy Israel and those who fight to defend it.”

How true.
