The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
–The terrorist breach of the Gaza border fence yesterday resulted in the IDF destruction of another Hamas tunnel early this morning, and the destruction of two Hamas naval vessels.
–The Palestinian terrorists who carried out the shooting attack at Talmonim yesterday were captured last night just outside of Ramallah.
–Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli men, women, and children throughout Judea and Samaria in such places as Tekoa, Hawara, on Road 443, Hizma, Silwad, and Hevron.
–Palestinian terrorists set fire to a large cherry orchard in Gush Etzion overnight, destroying thousands of dollars of fruit.
Israel’s absurd plunge into “humanitarian” political correctness . . .
. . . continued this morning with news that the government has agreed that 22 “wounded” Palestinians and their “relatives” were transferred from Gaza to Jordan for treatment.
So what will happen now?
By tomorrow there will be an anti-Israel parade through the streets of Amman featuring the 22 as heroes. The world media will descend on the Jordanian capital for endless press conferences about the “massacre” in Gaza, and endless condemnations of Israel.
From Jordan, the 22 will travel the Middle East to Turkey and elsewhere excoriating Israel at every stop. Your humble servant would not even be surprised if they wound up at The Hague testifying that Israel committed “war crimes” in Gaza.
What is the bottom line? After all of these years, Israel doesn’t have a clue about how to conduct public relations and continually shoots itself in the foot in every conceivable venue.

“Bellicose And Unreasonable”?
Trump’s 12-Point Plan For Iran
Several days ago, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke at the Heritage Foundation and outlined what the Trump Administration expects from Iran.
Because the speech has been roundly condemned as being “bellicose” and “unreasonable“, your humble servant thinks that we should take a look at it today.
Here’s the list that Pompeo actually enumerated; you can judge for yourself how “bellicose and unreasonable” it actually is:
1. “First, Iran must declare to the IAEA a full account of the prior military dimensions of its nuclear program, and permanently and verifiably abandon such work in perpetuity.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? Especially note the phrase “in perpetuity”; the Trump Administration allows no sunset clauses.]
2. “Second, Iran must stop enrichment and never pursue plutonium reprocessing. This includes closing its heavy water reactor.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? Why was the heavy water reactor ever allowed to remain open?]
3. “Third, Iran must also provide the IAEA with unqualified access to all sites throughout the entire country.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? Why did the appeasers ever allow Iran to monitor its own sites?]
4. “Iran must end its proliferation of ballistic missiles and halt further launching or development of nuclear-capable missile systems.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? How was the Iranian ballistic missile program ever excluded from the Appeasement Agreement?]
5. “Iran must release all U.S. citizens, as well as citizens of our partners and allies, each of them detained on spurious charges.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? How could the U.S. and other countries in good conscience sign on to an agreement with Iran while Tehran continues to illegally hold hostages?]
6. “Iran must end support to Middle East terrorist groups, including Lebanese Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? Why in the world was no attempt made to curb Iranian regional and global terrorism?]
7. “Iran must respect the sovereignty of the Iraqi Government and permit the disarming, demobilization, and reintegration of Shia militias.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? Why did the P5+1 ever agree that Iran could remain in control of Iraq?]
8. “Iran must also end its military support for the Houthi militia and work towards a peaceful political settlement in Yemen.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? How could anyone have signed off on Iranian terror in Yemen?]
9. “Iran must withdraw all forces under Iranian command throughout the entirety of Syria.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? How did the P5+1 turn a blind eye to the atrocities being committed in Syria by Assad and his Iranian friends?]
10. “Iran, too, must end support for the Taliban and other terrorists in Afghanistan and the region, and cease harboring senior al-Qaida leaders.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? Again, there was no thought given to reining in Iran in Afghanistan–or to the fact that Iran has become a safe haven for Al-Qaida.]
11. “Iran, too, must end the IRG Qods Force’s support for terrorists and militant partners around the world.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded by the P5+1 appeasers in the original Appeasement Agreement? The P5+1 appeasers gave Iran a free pass to terrorize the world–and billions of dollars with which to do so.]
12. “And too, Iran must end its threatening behavior against its neighbors – many of whom are U.S. allies. This certainly includes its threats to destroy Israel, and its firing of missiles into Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. It also includes threats to international shipping and destructive – and destructive cyberattacks.”
[Isn’t it amazing that this was not demanded in the original appeasement agreement? The P5+1 appeasers did not care one whit about how Iran continually threatens Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE with destruction, or how the Iranians have continually threatened shipping in the Straits of Hormuz.]
“That list is pretty long, but if you take a look at it, these are 12 very basic requirements. The length of the list is simply a scope of the malign behavior of Iran. We didn’t create the list, they did.”
How true in every respect. These demands are not bellicose or unreasonable; they are basic requirements that should have been included in any agreement to begin with, but weren’t because the P5+1 Appeasers were only interested in appeasing Iran.
President Trump was completely correct to withdraw the deeply flawed agreement.
