The Picture of the Day
What you are looking at is the newly completed Jerusalem train stop that is located 80 meters below the Jerusalem Central Bus Station. It is one of the deepest train stops on the planet.
When the eagerly awaited Tel Aviv-Jerusalem train route opens in October, all rides on the line will be free for 90 days.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
*Southern Israel continues to burn. Using Molotov kites, Palestinian terrorists set more than 30 fires along the Gaza border yesterday. Sixteen more have been set today so far.
*There was a Palestinian bulldozer attack near Beitar Illit. Three soldiers (one male, two female) were run over and needed to be evacuated to a Jerusalem hospital. They are all currently listed in “fair” condition.
*Numerous other terror attacks took place yesterday including a machine gun attack by 4 terrorists on a bus near Halhul, a “rock” attack at Deheishe that wounded an IDF officer, and Molotov attacks at Beit Ummar, Psagot, and Kochav Ya’akov among other places.
The Kushner-Greenblatt visit hits turbulence . . .
Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt are currently in the area trotting out elements of the long awaited Trump Peace Plan.
There are a number of elements which are unacceptable to Israel, but the Israeli “right” has decided to hold its fire for the moment “out of respect” for the Americans.
No such holding fire is taking place on the Palestinian side. Yesterday, Fatah spokesman Osama al-Qawasmi declared that every Palestinian individual and every Palestinian faction should unite against the plan.
Apparently, and there is no confirmation of this, the plan calls for Gaza to expand into the Egyptian Sinai and for the Palestinians to have a capital in some place other than Jerusalem.
Israelis are a “traveling people” . . .
According to a survey conducted in the last few weeks, 81% of Israeli Jews have traveled abroad in the last five years.
81%…more than 5 million Israeli Jews.

Has Our Israeli Government No Dignity?
Picture this:
William Arthur Philip Louis, aka Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn, and Baron Carrickfergus, and second in line to the British throne, will be standing—according to the British Foreign Office—in “occupied Palestine” on the Mount of Olives on Thursday. He will be there, escorted by PLO officials, to look at the Temple Mount which is–according to the British Foreign Office–part of “occupied Palestine.”
Imagine what a photo op that will be with William surrounded by hundreds of photographers.
How in the world did our Israeli government ever sign off on this without a syllable of protest?
If that is not enough, there are reports that William may also be taken to the Western Wall–by PLO officials.
Has our government no dignity?
And if that is not bad enough, we have the news today that Eurovision 2019 will not be held in our capital of Jerusalem after all.
Claiming that there is only one site in Jerusalem that meets the production requirements of Eurovision and it is unavailable, our pusillanimous government has apparently signed off on moving the event to Tel Aviv.
The obvious fact is that if there is no facility that meets the Eurovision requirements, Israel should build one. But the simple fact is that Israel has been cowed by the Eurovision authorities into moving the event to Tel Aviv.
Have we no dignity?
Apparently not.
