Speaking before Knesset’s Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs Committee on Monday, Sofa Landver announced that Israeli Jews are now the largest Jewish community in the world–having surpassed the American Jewish community by nearly one million people.
Declining birthrates and massive assimilation have produced an ever-declining American Jewish population in stark contrast to the ever-increasing Jewish population of Israel. According to Landver, 5.7 million Jews live in the U.S. while 6.6 million Jews live here in Israel.
