“Nikki Haley is more Israeli than Israelis.”

Maybe Mansour unwittingly has a great idea . . . Israel should make Ambassador Haley an honorary citizen of the country!

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

In Judea and Samaria:

The Bani Na’im Junction, Kiryat Arba, Beit Dik, Beit Haggai, Sha’ar Ohad, Beit El, Karmei Tzur, the Al-Khader Junction, Azzun, Psagot, Kochav Ya’akov, these were but a few of the places where Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis with Molotovs and “rocks.”

Along the Gaza border:

Numerous “non-existent” fires were started by “non-existent” kite and balloon incendiary devices launched by “non-existent” Palestinian terrorists in Gaza.

Fires other than the above one at Karmiya broke out at Zikim, Be’eri, Kfar Maimon, and Nahal Oz.

The fire at Nahal Oz caused hundreds of thousands of shekels worth of damage to wheat fields and irrigation systems.

“Even if we had only one more penny . . .

. . . it would be given to our martyrs’ families and our heroes in prison.” So said PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas yesterday.

But of course, the PLO has far more than just a penny.

In a perverse television show that appeared on Palestinian National Television this week, the terrorists who butchered reserve IDF soldiers Vadim Norzhic and Yossi Avrahami in the center of Ramallah eighteen years ago were once again hailed as heroes.

You may remember that back then, the two soldiers took a wrong turn and ended up in Ramallah. They were taken out of their car and escorted to the local police station.

The following is from a previous blog that I wrote about the gruesome incident:

“A Palestinian mob gathered at the station.

Meanwhile, two Palestinian policemen entered the room where Avrahami and Nurzhitz were held, beat them to the point of death with an iron pipe, and stabbed them repeatedly.

Then another Palestinian from the mob, Aziz Salha, came into the room and “finished the job”–beating, stabbing, and dismembering the soldiers.

In Salah’s own words*:

“I saw an Israeli soldier laying there, on his stomach. I approached him and I saw a knife in his back right shoulder.  I took the knife from the back of the soldier and stabbed him in the back two or three times, and left the knife in his back. Others in the room continued to hit the soldier in the legs. After stabbing the soldier, I put my hand over his mouth to strangle him. I saw that my hands were stained with blood and my shirt covered in blood at the bottom, then went to the window and I waved my hands to people in the yard. Then I returned from the window and saw the other soldier lying on his stomach in one corner of the room.”

The Palestinians then gouged out their eyes, disemboweled them, and scalped Avrahami–ripping out his brain. Salah then appeared at the window again to proudly show off his bloody hands:

Aziz Salah.

Aziz Salah.

Then the bodies of the soldiers were thrown out of the second floor window.

Once on the ground, the bodies were stomped on by the crowd, and one of the bodies was set on fire. Then, the bodies were dragged to the Ramallah central square by the mob, and further dismembered.

All of which brings us back to the television program about these Palestinian “heroes”. Since they have been in prison they have collected a total 2,023,600 shekels in “salary.”

2,023,600 shekels. $562,111.

This money was all paid by international “humanitarian donors.”

Speaking of “humanitarian donors” . . .

U.N. “Special Envoy to the Middle East” Nickolay Mladenov was back before the United Nations yesterday begging for more money to fund UNRWA, the abominable organization that perpetuates Palestinian victimhood.

Mladenov was particularly upset at how the Trump Administration has cut funds to UNRWA and threatened that if $217 million dollars was not quickly forthcoming, it would be impossible to “maintain stability” in the region.

In other words, if the world doesn’t pony up, the Palestinians will once again resort to violence.

But wait . . . the Palestinians constantly resort to violence everyday whether millions are donated to them or not.

Just to show you how ridiculous Israeli protests have become . . .

Israel has been beset by protests in recent weeks–protests that block roads, intersections, and major highways.

We have had LGBT protests about the exclusion of single men from the surrogacy law, pensioners’ protests about the fact that upon retirement people receive a very low pension from the government, disability protests in which those with disabilities want more money for daily living, and on and on.

But one yesterday has to take the cake. Law school interns who just failed the Bar Association Exam staged a protest in downtown Tel Aviv tying up traffic around the Azrieli intersection.

In fact, only 12% of the interns who took the exam at its most recent offering passed the test.

Unfair! Give us a simpler test! The government must intervene!: were some of the signs of those protesting. The protesters promised yesterday to set up a 24 hour a day protest tent in Rabin Square.

Incredible.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The Fog Of War Descends Over The Israeli Golan Heights

The ever present fog of war has descended over the Golan Heights in the last few days.

First we had the incident two days ago where Israel’s Magic Wand (aka David’s Sling) missile defense battery went into action for the first time to shoot down incoming SS-21 missiles from Syria.

The initial report was simply that the Magic Wand missiles missed their targets.

However, after a quick investigation, the IDF came up with a different story. According to the new story, the Magic Wand missiles were launched because the Lt. Colonel in charge thought the SS-21s would strike Israel.

The story continues that when it was determined the SS-21s would not strike Israel, one of the Magic Wand missiles was self-destructed by Israel before it reached the Syrian border.

The other Magic Wand missile, according to the IDF, continued over Syria, failed to hit its target, and then crashed–leading to the fear that the Syrians, Iranians, and Russians all got their hands on Magic Wand technology.

All of which leads to the obvious question: if the above IDF story is true, why didn’t the IDF also initiate the self-destruct on the second missile?

Now on to the event of yesterday.

In this incident, a Syrian Sukhoi-22 fighter jet was shot down by two Israeli-launched Patriot missiles after the plane had infiltrated 2 km into Israel airspace.

According to the IDF, the plane took off from the same T4 airbase in Syria that Israel has attacked so many times before, flew rapidly toward Israel, was warned in different languages and on different frequencies to stop, and when it did not it was shot down, crashing on the Syrian side of the border.

Of course it is possible that the plane was hit and then turned back toward Syria, but once again the circumstances of the incident have raised almost as many questions as did the Magic Wand incident the day before.

For example, if Israel was sure that it was a Syrian plane, why were warnings being broadcast in different languages? Are foreigners now flying in the Syrian air force? Probably so. Your humble servant would not be surprised if Iranians, Russians, or any of their cohorts are now operating Syrian jets.

One final “foggy” footnote: the body of the pilot was found–but the navigator’s body is still missing.

Such is the fog of war on the Golan Heights today.
