Ridiculous Quote of the Day:
“Hamas’ pattern of operation has failed time after time, so will it fail with terror and fire.”
IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot, speaking at the graduation ceremony yesterday of the Naval Training Course
Here’s a news flash for Eizenkot: the Hamas strategy of launching incendiary devices into southern Israel has not failed; it has been extraordinarily successful in destroying large swaths of land, wreaking and environmental and health problems on a massive scale, and undermining Israeli morale.
And why has it been so successful? Because of the triumvirate of Netanyahu, Lieberman, and Eizenkot who have resisted any sort of meaningful military response to the terrorists. Eizenkot in particular refuses to order attacks on balloon and kite launchers on humanitarian grounds.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
On the Gaza border:
Another day and dozens of more incendiary kites and balloons were launched into Israel. As these devices landed, 4 major fires were set, and many other small ones burned briefly. The hardest hit areas were around Netivot and Sha’ar Hanegev.
One balloon cluster even landed in the middle of Netivot:
Our Non-Defense Minister Lieberman announced last night that no fuel and gas would be allowed through the Kerem Shalom Crossing into Gaza today because of the “continued terror” of the kites and balloons. This action is totally meaningless; the terrorists could care less if there is less fuel and gas in Gaza.
In Judea and Samaria:
There were at least two major outbreaks of terrorism against our soldiers and other security personnel yesterday–in Binyamin and Shechem.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire on the community of Beit El for more than 45 minutes last night. The firing continued until IDF troops arrived on the scene. Fortunately, no Israelis were wounded; unfortunately, the terrorists escaped.
What should you do when you confront an anti-Israel terrorist? . . .
Get right in their face of course.
A hilarious video was posted this morning of a confrontation in Hevron between Katie Hopkins and a Palestinian activist being interviewed for Arab television.
If you don’t know who Katie Hopkins is, she calls herself “The Rebel”. As she describes herself on her own website:
“. . . I’m 5’8″, 130 lbs, kind of bouncy and laugh at myself a lot. Some call me the British Ann Coulter, the female Farage or an Evil Ellen DeGeneres.
But I am a woman on a mission. I am serious about telling the truths not being told. From the systemic slaughter of white farmers in South Africa, to the plight of Christians in the Middle East: I have one clear aim: to tell the stories not being told.”
Click here to watch Katie confront the Palestinian and his interviewer in Hevron (be patient and wait for the video to load).
Talk about lack of deterrence . . .
Guess who is now casually walking around his neighborhood in Beirut? None other than Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah.
After living most of the last decade in his bunker, Nasrallah is now so sure of Israel’s lack of response that he has come out of his hole.

No deterrence on the Gaza border and no deterrence in Lebanon.
If you can believe this . . .
. . . and of course, why would you not . . . the abominable American “Jewish” organization “Jewish Voice for Peace” is about to hold a conference in which it demands that Israel release every Palestinian terrorist held in Israeli prisons.
We actually think that this is a great idea so long as every one of these murderers is sent to live with members of “Jewish” Voice for Peace.
On a much more serious note . . .
Your humble servant is very happy to see that a compromise seems to have been worked out between the Druze community and the government in the wake of the passage of the Nation Law last week.
Most of the Druze have been extraordinarily loyal citizens of Israel since the re-founding of the state with many of them having served meritoriously in the IDF. They felt that the Nation Law, as written, excluded them.
In the compromise, the government pledges:
“1. To anchor in law the status of the Druze and Circassian communities. The law will recognize the contribution of the Druze community to the State of Israel in building the land, strengthening security, and shaping Israeli society as an egalitarian and diverse society.
2. To support community institutions (religion, education, culture) by strengthening the Druze communities, including building new residential construction and preserving Druze heritage.
3. To delineate in law the benefits to members of minorities, of all religions and communities, who serve in the security forces, to achieve social equality.”
There will a Druze solidarity rally in Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square on Saturday night. Your humble servant plans to attend.
Good news for Sodastream! . . .
We at israelstreet are particularly happy to report that Sodastream, the Israeli company that has been so viciously and fraudulently attacked by BDS, has exceeded all sales projections in recent quarters.
Yesterday, the value of Sodastream stock increased by over 20% as earnings per share increased to $1.14.
Kolakevod!
The headline reads “Committee Approves Renovation to Southern Kotel” but . . .
. . . there are only two members left on the Holy Sites Committee, PM Netanyahu and Yuval Steinetz–after everyone else including Ayelet Shaked and Miri Regev resigned.
In any case, the so-called “renovation project” which will solidify an area of prayer for Reform and Conservative Jews will apparently commence shortly.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Build Israel Great Again!
Ambassador David Friedman sitting shiva in Adam a few days ago, the statement of Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt blasting Hamas yesterday, former Governor Mike Huckabee in Efrat yesterday. . . there is definitely a strong pro-Israel wind blowing from the U.S. these days–a wind we did not see during the eight Obama years.
Those Obama years saw everyone from the U.S. walking on eggshells–terrified of offending the Palestinians and the international community. Today there are no more eggshells.
In case you are unaware of it, there is currently a building boom going on in Efrat with 600 new residences currently being completed and another 300 more halfway finished. It is more building than we have seen in Area C of Judea in a very long time.
Of course, the slogan “Build Israel Great Again” is meant to recall Trump’s campaign slogan in 2016.
Wherever it came from, it sounds good. Your humble servant thinks he may get one of those red hats you see people wearing in the above photo!
