The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
In Judea and Samaria:
There was intense violence in Shechem overnight with Palestinian terrorists attacking IDF troops. Five terrorists were wounded.
Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis with “rocks” and Molotovs at Beit El, on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road, at Deir Abu Mash’al, Karmei Tzur, Beit Hagai, Hevron, Luban a-Sharqiya, Bireh, and a host of other places.
On the Gaza border:
IDF sappers detonated yet another explosive device along the Gaza border fence near Nahal Oz.
Numerous fires were started by incendiary devices launched from Gaza (see Today’s Blog).
“Ceasefire” talks postponed, again . . .
The neverending “ceasefire” talks being held in Cairo to stop the violence emanating from Gaza were stalled again yesterday as the PLO (Fatah) continues to refuse to reconcile with Hamas. The problem seems to be that the PLO feels that it is being left out of the ceasefire negotiations and rejects going forward unless Hamas agrees to its reconciliation terms.
The fact of the matter is that Hamas and the PLO will never reconcile and that is good for Israel.
Outrage over the High Court of Injustice . . .
The Israeli public is aghast over the Court’s order yesterday to admit Hamas relatives into the country for treatment at Israeli hospitals. This morning, Minister Levin termed the decision “scandalous.”
Which it is.
Just as scandalous as . . .
. . . the fact that 61 babies have been fathered by Palestinian terrorists sitting in Israeli prisons this year.
How is this possible?
Our utterly corrupt Israel Prison Service which constantly colludes with the prisoners has allowed terrorists’ sperm to be smuggled out of prison.
Here are the numbers over the past few years:
23 children were born to terrorists in 2015
38 children were born to terrorists in 2016
56 children were born to terrorists in 2017
61 children have been born to terrorists between January 1 and today of this year
If this is not a scandal, your humble servant does not know what is.
Netanyahu derangement syndrome . . .
The Israeli health care Clalit organization just distributed a newsletter specifying the causes of stress that can lead to baldness: intensive care hospitalization, the death of a close relative or friend, or the possibility of Netanyahu winning an election again.
By last night, the Netanyahu reference had been removed, with Clalit issuing this statement: “We apologize for a pointless text that tried to describe a health phenomenon lightly. The text, which was integrated into a professional medical article, was immediately removed and lessons learned.”

Government Lies Continue As Southern Israel Goes Up In Smoke
The theater of the absurd, a surreal farce, an Orwellian sham . . . what words and phrases can we use to describe the government’s suppression of information about the fires ravaging southern Israel?
How can the Netanyahu government sit idly by while southern Israel goes up in smoke? How can non-Defense Minister Lieberman open all crossings into Gaza while fires are burning all around? How can a democratic government overtly lie to people about the fires burning along the border?
Yesterday, there were at least seven more fires lit by incendiary kites and balloons launched by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza:
1 near Sa’ad
1 in the Be’eri Forest
1 in Nahal Shuba
1 in the Abraham Forest
1 in Talmei Yosef
2 in the Shukda Forest
In the case of one of the fires, a resident called the 100 emergency number and reported that he saw the fire start when a balloon exploded. Nevertheless, after each fire was reported, government authorities rushed out to declare that each was not the result of terrorism.
The reality of the situation was noted by Minister of Social Equality Gila Gamliel who toured the border communities yesterday. At a stop in the Shukda Forest, she said: “The smell of smoke and soot in the air is the smell of Hamas terror coming to our territory with kites and balloons. We have to give a solution to the residents of the south . . .”
The perverse attempt to obscure what is taking place was underscored yesterday as every entity involved in the suppression of information tried to shift the blame to others in what sounded like a slapstick comedy routine:
–Our non-Defense Minister Lieberman said that he only reports information given to him by the IDF.
–The IDF said that they are merely reporting the information given them by the local fire departments.
–The local fire departments said that the KKL-JNF firefighting forces are the ones responsible for the information.
–But guess what . . . the KKL-JNF firefighting teams did not even show up to some of the fire locations yesterday.
One last word. Guess where non-Defense Lieberman was yesterday? Meeting with IDF officers to discuss what to do if Hamas missiles target central Israel and what to do if fires break out there.
There really are no words to describe how the residents of southern Israel continue to be abandoned by our government.
