Quote of the Day:
“The BDS movement casts doubt on Israel’s right to exist and accuses Israel of racism. [It has crossed the] . . . line between legitimate criticism of Israeli politics and anti-Zionist anti-Semitism. We base the definition of anti-Semitism [on what] was adopted by the Bundestag last April.”
The German National Office for the Defense of the Constitution in Berlin in its annual report published last week.
As you may not know, Berlin, Munich, and Frankfurt are now attempting to prohibit BDS activities in their respective cities.
The News on the Israeli Street
Fires on the Gaza border . . .
Another day with more incendiary kites and balloons and more fires. The most severe fire was at Kibbutz Kerem Shalom.
Yesterday, the Chief Scientist of the Israel Nature and National Parks Protection Authority, Yehoshua Shkedi, said that “the process of restoring the damaged nature will take decades.”
Also yesterday, Dudi Simchi, the Firefighting and Rescue Commissioner had this to say at a meeting of southern leaders: “I thank the residents of the Gaza vicinity for their courage and help and of course our various partners in putting out the fires. The shutdown time has gone from an average of 15 minutes to an average of only 7 minutes.”
Bravo to our firefighting teams, but lowering the time of putting out fires doesn’t change the facts that tens of thousands of dunams have burned and an entire generation has been traumatized.

Repeated attempts to infiltrate the Gaza border . . .
Two more Palestinian terrorists were captured while crossing the Gaza border fence near Be’eri.
Good news from Iran . . .
The Iranian rial continues to drop like a rock.
Yesterday it hit its all-time low against the dollar: $1 = 138,000 rials.
Bad news from the Netanyahu and Likud . . .
There is a serious report this morning that Netanyahu and former IDF Chief “Do-Nothing” Benny Gantz are in advanced discussions to have Gantz join Likud and become Israel’s foreign minister.
Can you even begin to imagine Gantz as foreign minister? His term of office in the IDF was a disaster as he blundered his way through the 2014 war in Gaza leaving our troops exposed and making his famous “anemones” speech calling residents back to the south only to see them get killed in missile and mortar attacks.

Dissension In The Ranks
An IDF reservist who was suspended because he supposedly “attacked” a left-wing “activist” from the hideous Ta’ayush organization a few weeks ago in Samaria, declared yesterday: “I will not return to reserve duty.”
46-year-old veteran Alan Segev bitterly castigated his Brigade Commander, the IDF General Command, and Non-Defense Minister Lieberman for suspending him for punching the “activists” on the basis of yet another doctored video provided by a so-called “human rights” organization.
That video did not show the fact that the Ta’ayush “activists” hit Segev before he responded, leading him to comment “We were sent under tremendous pressure to the area in the harsh heat of August, and we found ourselves in a left-wing wasps’ nest . . . In every civilized country, they [the activists] would be in jail, where is the defense minister?”
Where is the Defense Minister indeed?
How is it possible that our government permits leftist lawbreakers to follow our troops around in Judea, Samaria, and on the Gaza border–all the while photographing them, taunting them, insulting them, pushing them, and punching them–and nobody does anything?
It is an absurd situation to put our soldiers in.
