Palestinian terror in the last 48 hours . . .

The fire terror continues to spread. As we have been reporting on israelstreet for some time now, Palestinian terrorists in Judea and Samaria are copying Gazan terrorists and successfully torching swaths of Area C.
Yesterday, Palestinian terrorists started a large fire in the Einot Tzukim Nature Reserve on the northwest coast of the Dead Sea.

500 dunams (almost 125 acres) were burned. Within that area, numerous rare species of animals and plants went up in smoke. Three Palestinians who still had the flammable materials they used to start the fire were arrested shortly after the fire started.
Elsewhere in Judea and Samaria and eastern Jerusalem:
*Palestinian terrorists attacked an IDF post near Beit Jala.
*Palestinian terrorists threw pipe bombs at the Israeli Border Police base in Abu Dis.
*Palestinian terrorists planted an IED at the Adi Ad Checkpoint. It was defused by IDF sappers.
*Palestinian terrorists threw IED gas grenades at an Israeli motorist on Route 465 near Deir Nizam.
*Palestinian terrorists assaulted Israelis with “rocks” and Molotovs at Har Gilo, on the Gush Etzion Road near Hevron, at Azzun, at the Abud Bypass, on Road 55, near Nebi Salah, and a myriad of other places.
The Palestinians and Europeans break Israeli law again . . .

Not surprisingly, the PLO and their cohorts in the European Union moved into an area near the illegal Palestinian squatter’s camp of Khan Al-Ahmar last night and set up 4 new illegal buildings. You will remember that Khan Al-Ahmar has been ordered destroyed 5 times by the Israel High Court of Justice but is still standing.
Is the end of the world near? . . .

Yisrael Katz.
Yisrael Katz is one of a number of Likud politicians who see themselves as possible successors to Benjamin Netanyahu. Not very well known outside of Israel, he is always in the public eye here because of the focus on transportation infrastructure.
At the moment, Katz is the negative limelight because of the delays in getting the long-awaited Tel Aviv-Jerusalem train line operating, and because of the anger of the ultra-orthodox over a plan to build a pedestrian bridge over the Ayalon Freeway (because work would be done on Saturdays).
Leaving that aside for the moment, Katz can be articulate as he was yesterday on Israel Army Radio when discussing President Trump’s Israel policies.
(Please note below that Abu Mazen = Mahmoud Abbas. Israelis generally refer to the PLO leader as “Abu Mazen”).
On security cooperation between the PLO and Israel:
“Abu Mazen is doing us no favors. I am not afraid of a decision by the PLO to stop security coordination with Israel; we can handle any terrorism that comes our way. Without Israeli security assistance . . . Abu Mazen will fall. Every day, our Shin Bet thwarts Palestinian attempts to get rid of him.”
On Abu Mazen’s misreading of President Trump:
“When Abu Mazen swears at President Trump and tells him ‘your house will be destroyed’, he thinks this will cause President Trump to give him more money. He doesn’t realize that this will cause his own Palestinian house to be destroyed.”
On President Trump’s profound understanding of the Palestinians:
“Trump’s important initiative to naturalize Palestinian ‘refugees’ [in the countries in which they live] and cutback funding for UNRWA . . . stems from a profound historical historical perspective of the conflict. The refugee problem is raised by Arab leaders and then by Palestinian leaders as a tool for achieving the right of return and the destruction of Israel. The real point of departure is that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and there is no right of return to Israel.”
On the goal of President Trump’s policy:
“The American president’s policy is aimed at eliminating the idea of a Palestinian state in place of the State of Israel. ‘What does President Trump do?’ He peels off the Palestinian lie, layer by layer, as an onion, destroying the idea of a ‘Greater Palestine’ from the sea to the Jordan River, which is being taught to the Palestinians in Abu Mazen’s schools.”
Layer by layer, as an onion. That is what we all need to do to counter the Palestinian lie. There is no Greater Palestine; there are no 500,000+ Palestinian “refugees”; there is no Jerusalem as capital of “Palestine”. Layer by layer, as an onion.
