Pictures of the Day:
Just how far down is the station? 80 meters underground making it one of the five deepest train stations in the world. Netanyahu and Katz took the new train yesterday from Jerusalem to Ben Gurion airport.
The News On The Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
On the Gaza border:
Massive launches of incendiary balloons by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza resulted in more than 11 fires yesterday in and around Nir Am (3), Kissufim, Be’eri (3), Raim, Sderot, Gabim, Sdot Negev, and Moshav Malilot.
Perhaps the incendiary balloon that crashed in Moshav Malilot was the most dangerous–and one indicative of the increasingly sophisticated weaponry the balloons carry. It landed beside several homes and exploded several times firing shrapnel fragments into the neighborhood. It was extremely fortunate that no one was wounded.
Last night, the IAF struck one of the cells launching the balloons, but the effort was just a token one. When hundreds are being launched, stopping one group from launching a few is just a drop in the bucket.
At the same time, Hamas continued to ramp up attacks on the border fence–attacks that now come day and night. It has even started sending brazen warnings to Israeli citizens warning of loud explosions and alarms at specific times.
In light of all of this terror, one could well ask Non-Defense Minister Lieberman: Why are all of the crossings still open? Why are we still supplying fuel and goods to the terrorists? Why in the world isn’t the IDF taking a firmer stance against the terrorists?”
In Judea and Samaria:
Palestinian terrorists threw “rocks” and Molotovs at Israeli citizens on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road, at Karmei Tzur, Turmusaya, Luban a-Sharqiya, Al Aruv, Beitin, Tekoa, Umm Safa, Hizma, Homesh, and near the Tapuach Junction to name a few places.
Ten million shekels . . .
This is the amount of money that the murderer of Ari Fuld will receive from the PLO if he stays in prison for the rest of his life.
Ten million shekels. Fourteen years from now, he will be a millionaire as will his parents. He will also enjoy free health and dental insurance courtesy of the state of Israel, and his family the same via the PLO. The murderer will also undoubtedly receive a university degree from the Open University of Al Quds.
It is all nauseatingly outrageous.
Yesterday, Finance Minister Kahlon took some small action against this outrage by announcing that for every agarot the PLO pays the murderer in his family, Israel will deduct the same amount from tax revenues handed over to the PLO.
You can still donate . . .
The Ari Fuld fund is still collecting donations on the Gofundme website.
As of this moment, $892,937 have been raised to support Ari’s wife and four children.

What did the Palestinians wake up to today? . . .
The Trump Administration is adding one “misery” after another to the “poor Palestinians.”
This morning we have so-called Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki crying about the fact that the U.S. has not yet granted him a visa to attend the UN General Assembly in a few weeks (so he can go there and trash Israel).
According to al-Maliki, PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has also yet to receive a visa.
More good news about Iran thanks to Trump . . .
One of the largest Indian oil companies, Chennai, announced yesterday that it will stop processing crude oil from Iran on November 1, the date that new American sanctions against Iran go into force.
Isn’t it amazing what a strong leader can do? Just look at all of the companies that are afraid to do business with Iran because they know that President Trump will sanction them also if they do.

Redeeming The Land Of Israel: Shimon HaTzadik
Next week on September 27, your humble servant will be participating in the annual Sukkot Jerusalem walk. The route we have chosen this year will take us from Ammunition Hill through the Shimon HaTzadik neighborhood (Nahalat Shimon) and on up to Mt. Scopus before descending the Mount of Olives and then ascending to Mount Zion.
We particularly wanted to take this route because it takes us through Shimon HaTzadik.
What and where is this neighborhood? Founded in 1890, the religious neighborhood is located beside the Tomb of Shimon HaTzadik (Simeon the Just), a high priest during the time of the 2nd Temple.
By 1947, there were one hundred Jewish families living there, but in March of 1948, the British ordered the Jews out because of mounting Arab violence.
It was not until 1967 that Jews were able to begin moving back into their neighborhood. In recent years, the fact that there are Jews living in their old homes on their own property in Shimon HaTzadik has become a cause celebre to Western self-proclaimed “human rights” activists–who prefer say that the neighborhood is part of the adjoining Arab neighborhood of “Sheikh Jarrar.”
Yesterday, for the first time since 1967, two residential construction plans for Shimon HaTzadik were submitted to the District Planning and Building Committee. These plans have been in the works for the better part of the last decade but before now were not brought forward because of international pressure.
What do the plans encompass? A meager 15 residential housing units on land owned by Jews since 1890.
This number may sound unimportant, but in a city in which Jewish progress is often measured one house at a time, it is a major step.
We look forward to seeing the site next Thursday.
