Photos of the Day: Which One is More Pathetic?
Picture 1:
Picture 2:
So which is the more pathetic?
Holocaust denier and arch-terrorist Abbas cozying up to his nauseating European friend who like most others in the nauseating European Union will do anything to help the Palestinians undermine Israel?
Or Holocaust denier and arch-terrorist Abbas cozying up to the former Israeli PM Olmert who did his best to give away parts of Israel to the Palestinians and to remove Israeli sovereignty over the Old City of Jerusalem including the Western Wall and the Temple Mount?
It’s a tough choice. Both Macron and Olmert are pathetic. Macron is trying to establish himself as the head of the pro-Palestinian European bloc of nations while Olmert is trying to secure his legacy (not unlike the way that John Kerry has been doing by meeting with Iranian FM Javad Zarif).
What was especially sickening yesterday was to listen to Macron talking about how the Europeans are going to pick up the tab for UNRWA, and to listen to Olmert defend Abbas by saying that Abbas never rejected his peace offer and they would have reached an agreement if they had only had a little more time.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
It was another rough day and night for our soldiers on the Gaza border with an estimated 10,000 Palestinans throwing IEDs, grenades, “rocks”, and Molotovs. Amazingly, only one soldier was wounded–by shrapnel in the leg. Meanwhile, another 4 terrorists met their timely end.
No more recognition of Israel . . .
PLO Executive Committee terrorist Ahmad Majdalani told Voice of Palestine radio yesterday that Abbas will use his speech in the UN General Assembly in a couple of weeks to suspend Palestinian recognition of Israel.
All your humble servant can say is “what a joke.”
Since day 1, the Palestinians have never recognized the state of Israel and have constantly worked for its elimination (see Today’s Blog below).
One other piece of hilarity: you can be sure that if Abbas “suspends recognition”, he most certainly will not suspend the security cooperation with Israel that keeps him from being overthrown by Hamas.
TODAY’S BLOG:
“Like Rats Abandoning A Ship”
“[The Oslo Accords] are an opportunity to bring the PLO and the resistance to Palestine, and [to force] Jews out like rats abandoning a ship.”
Nobel Peace Prize recipient PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat, back in 1993 just after the Oslo Accords were signed, in a personal interview with Palestinian journalist Abd Al-Bari Atwan.
In the interview with Atwan, Arafat also revealed that he was supporting Hamas with money and weapons and that Hezbollah was transferring weapons to Gaza.
Of course, there is nothing new about this to any regular reader of israelstreet. We all know the Oslo Accords were a subterfuge to do exactly what Arafat said.
And while it is not surprising that Shimon Peres could not see the reality of the situation, it remains a mystery to your humble servant how Yitzhak Rabin could not. Their inability is what led to the Oslo catastrophe here in Israel where more than a thousand Israelis were blown to pieces by Palestinian suicide bombers.
By the way, when you hear Arafat’s Deputy, Mahmoud Abbas, saying as Arafat did that he supports a two state solution and is willing to talk with Israel in public or private, you can be sure that his only reason for doing so–like Arafat’s– is to undermine the state of Israel.
Like rats abandoning a ship.
