The News On The Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
In Judea and Samaria:
There was an attempted infiltration of terrorists at Gush Talmonim overnight. Continuing alarms sounded until the threat was removed.
Palestinian terrorists set fire to armored vehicles on Road 446 near Netof.
Palestinian terrorists threw Molotovs and “rocks” at buses at Sinjil, Hizma, Adam, Immanuel, and near Hevron–and cars at Luban a-Sharqiya, Beit Horon, Karmei Tzur, the T-Junction, Tekoa, Kiryat Arba, near the Tapuach Junction, Hawara, Nabi Elias, and on the Hussan Bypass Road among other places.
All reports above were made to Rescue Judea and Samaria.
On the Gaza border:
Palestinian terrorists continued their attempts to break through the border fence in numerous locations during the day and night. Once again, Molotovs, IEDs, grenades, and rifle fire targeted our soldiers.
8 fires were set by incendiary balloons launched by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza (see more about this in Today’s Blog). The largest fire was at Kibbutz Mefalsim.
“My child’s blood is on their hands” . . .
So said the mother of Shir Hajaj about The New Israel Fund yesterday.
You may recall that IDF Cadet Shir was murdered in a Palestinian truck attack on the Armon Hanatziv promenade in Jerusalem on January 8, 2016. Three other cadets Yael Yekutiel, Shira Tzur, and Erez Orbach were murdered in the same terror attack.
The terrorist murderer was killed at the scene.
Yesterday, at a hearing in the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court, the Israeli residency of the terrorist’s family was revoked and they were ordered deported.
But not without a legal fight in which the terrorist’s family was represented by Hamoked–an organization partially funded by The New Israel Fund. Hamoked engaged in their defense despite evidence that members of the terrorist’s family have links to Islamic State and have been involved in other terror activities.
In arguing for the deportation, Shir’s parents, Meirav and Herzl Hajaj, made this eloquent statement to the court:
“No one will return our daughter. We are here to prevent the next attack, God forbid. It is delusional that the governments of Europe and the New Israel Fund provide legal protection to the terrorists who murdered her and other Israelis. We are fighting here . . . against those who make their living by murdering Jews . . . Our child’s blood is on the hands of the New Israel Fund.”
Thank goodness the Court listened, the battle is not over yet. The leftist Israel High Court of Injustice is likely to overturn the decision.
Non-Defense Minister Lieberman delusionally crowing again . . .
Avigdor Lieberman was in Karnei Shomron in Samaria yesterday visiting the same Neve Menachem neighborhood as your humble servant visited last week.
During his speech there, he absurdly took credit for the 220 new houses being built in Karnei Shomron (absurdly because these homes were approved a decade ago) and 11,000 more under construction in Judea and Samaria (again, these were approved long before Lieberman was in the government). Then he mentioned 11,000 more that are in “planning stages” (translated: they may be built by 2025)–and then he patted himself on the back for Amichai, Beit El, and even the Nabi Elias bypass road.
Your humble servant is happy to see Lieberman in Samaria, but the place he should really be at the moment is on the Gaza border doing something to stop the terror there.
More delusional crowing . . .
The Temple Mount Foundation was effervescent yesterday about the increase in Jews going to the Temple Mount during Sukkot.
What a joke.
To begin with the Temple Mount was only open to Jews on six out of the eight days of Sukkot. And even then, it was only open for 27 total hours on those six days.

27 hours in 8 days.
Unbelievable.
As for actual numbers, 2,738 Jews ascended the Mount during Sukkot compared to 2,265 last year.
2,738 Jews during Sukkot compared to 1,000,000+ Muslims during Ramadan.
And we are supposed to be happy about this?
The Syrians get their first Russian S-300 anti-missile battery . . .
Should Israel be worried about this?
Of course we should. The S-300 is one of the most advanced anti-missile systems in the world. However, the U.S. pointed out yesterday that the S-300 has not been all that effective in other deployments.
And what is more, Israel possesses weapons systems that allow missiles to be fired at targets in Syria without our aircraft entering Syrian airspace.
TODAY’S BLOG:
The IDF Must Act To Stop The Terror!
As is noted daily on israelstreet, the scourge of fires in the communities along the Gaza border continues unabated.
During the Sukkot holiday alone, more than 70 fires were started by incendiary balloons launched by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza.
In previous blogs, we have talked about the scale of destruction–how tens of thousands of acres of forests, farmlands, and nature reserves have been destroyed and how all kinds of unique fauna and wildlife have gone up in smoke.
In the past few days, two more points were made in separate meetings in the Gaza communities.
Last Friday, at a meeting in Kerem Shalom, the Ministry of Environmental Protection warned all residents of these communities to stay indoors because of air pollution caused by fires, burning tires on the Gaza side of the border, and tear gas fired by the IDF to disperse terrorists.
Normally the air quality index in the area measures 132; in the last month it has been measuring nearly 1400, indicating intense pollution.
Kerem Shalom residents reported that infants and children on the kibbutz are now suffering from “breathing difficulties, vomiting, and severe gas inhalation.” They also noted that even inside homes, pollution is intense. One community leader angrily declared: “It’s impossible to live like this anymore, our children have become abandoned; until now it was mostly luck – if a rocket hits you or a Molotov cocktail falls, but now it’s a pervasive health problem.
Another resident said: “We demand that the defense minister deal with this madness immediately; because the IDF responds with tear gas canisters instead of responding with live fire we are the ones who are harmed. We are on the verge of escaping and moving to another place. I say in tears that it’s impossible to go on, it’s simply impossible.”
If all of this is not enough, the balloon terrorism is now assuming new proportions. As we have reported previously, the newest balloons are not merely carrying small explosives to start fires but also larger explosives filled with shrapnel.
This latter type of shrapnel balloon is specifically aimed at Israeli children.
The terrorists are now placing toys and even neon lights on balloons as “child-bait.”
Several days ago, a “bouquet” of balloons adorned with colored lights landed near Sderot. It also had an explosive charge connected to it.
Following this bouquet, the IDF issued these instructions: “Please instruct the children not to touch objects that are attached to the balloons and look like toys . . . sometimes there are paintings on balloons, with hearts and smiles, and funny faces . . .”
There is no other way to say it: the IDF must act to stop the terror!
