Happy Palestinians handing out candy in Gaza yesterday to celebrate the murder of the two Israelis in Samaria (photo collage Ofer Gendelman).

Not only was candy given out in Gaza, but Palestinian social media lit up with thousands of posts and tweets about the “heroic action” in the Barkan Industrial Zone. See Today’s Blog for more details.

The News On The Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

In Judea and Samaria:

The grisly murder of the two Israelis at the Barkan Industrial Zone near Ariel in Samaria was not the only murderous attack on Israelis.

Palestinians terrorists tried to kill Israeli men, women, and children by throwing “rocks” and Molotovs: north of Kiryat Arba at the bypass junction, at Givon, Luban a-Sharqiya, Pisgat, Beit Igasa, on Road 443, and at Tekoa, Beit Ummar, Ne’ilin, Hizma, Huwara, El Khader among other places.

On the Gaza border:

Another day, more fires, virtually no response. The worst fires of the day were in the Kissufim Forest, Kfar Aza, and Be’eri. The massive fire at Ein Habesor continues to smolder but has been brought under control.

Another day, more successful breaches of the border fence, virtually no response. Palestinian terrorists took videos of themselves cutting through the fence at various locations, stealing all kinds of equipment from the IDF, and then casually returning to Gaza.

Unbelievable.

Another cabinet meeting, more meaningless Netanyahu bluster . . .

At last night’s Cabinet meeting, PM Netanyahu indicated that he had bought into the Palestinian “humanitarian narrative” hook, line, and sinker as he bellowed this:  “It is desirable to reduce the reality of civilian distress in Gaza, but it is not certain that this will happen. Military preparations are taking place – this is not an idle statement.”

This is not an idle statement? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Khan Al-Ahmar is still standing . . .

Believe it or not the illegal Palestinian settlement of Khan Al-Ahmar has yet to be razed. Why it has not is anyone’s guess. The High Court has ruled, and Angela Merkel has come and gone–but it is still there.

Nati Ram of the Lev Olam organization which has fought valiantly for the settlement’s removal summed it up like this yesterday:

” . . . Khan Al-Ahmar is still standing . . . [It is] an illegal settlement which according to the law should be destroyed – a settlement that did not exist until a few years ago. It is a settlement which was established by the European Union to take over land of the State of Israel, and it is a settlement being protected by BDS organizations.”

Hilariously, our Non-Defense Minister Lieberman who is supposedly in charge of making decisions about Khan Al-Ahmar wrote an op-ed this morning in the Jerusalem Post entitled “Cut the grandstanding on Khan Al-Ahmar.” Yet grandstanding is exactly what Lieberman did in his article as he once again blamed everyone but himself for not razing the illegal encampment.

Your humble servant has just one thing to say about all of this: bulldoze the settlement immediately and be done with it!

Lara Al-Qasem is still at Ben Gurion . . .

As we all online prescription viagra know, sperm plays an important role in fertility. While there’s no cookie-cutter solution online viagra to low libido, HerSolution libido enhancer is the closest thing (for women of all ages) to finally solving the issue of female sexual dysfunction. This can cause pain and burning sensations in the upper right or tadalafil canadian pharmacy left sides of the penis to allow it to achieve erections anytime and for any desired period of time. One should immediately buy levitra vardenafil seek medical attention in case of cheaper rates.
If you can believe this (and your humble servant cannot), Lara Al-Qasem, the American member of Students for Justice in Palestine and ardent supporter of BDS, is still sitting in a holding facility at Ben Gurion.

Apparently, as she was in the process of being deported last week, the whole process ground to a halt. The only possible reason must have to do with the government trying to be politically correct.

Your humble servant has only one thing to say: throw the bum out immediately and be done with her!

Excellent news . . .

At yesterday’s cabinet meeting, the government approved the entry into Israel of 1000 more Falashmura from Ethiopia. These people have been waiting in Ethiopia for eight years to join their families who are already here and fully integrated into Israeli society.

More excellent news . . .

Israel’s newest desalination plant at Sorek was put out to bid yesterday.

The plant will be the largest desalination plant in the world, eventually producing 200 million cu meters of water per year. When fully online, the combined total of water produced by all desalination plants in the country will be 785 million cu meters per year–about 85% of total domestic consumption.

A Bridge of Coexistence?

The Grisly Murders in Barkan Yesterday

Ziv Hajbi and Kim Y. May their memories always be blessed.

Ziv Hajbi and Kim Yehezkel. May their memories always be blessed.

The facts of what happened yesterday are straightforward.

A Palestinian terrorist from Shweika near Qalqilya walked into his place of employment, the Alon Recycling Plant in the Barkan Industrial Zone at 7:30 am, with an semi-automatic assault rifle in his bag.

Shortly thereafter, he walked upstairs to the offices of 28-year-old Kim Yehezkel, a receptionist who started working for the company a year ago, and 35-year-old Ziv Hajbi. Kim Yehezkel was the happily married mother of a one and a half year old baby. Ziv Hajbi, whose birthday would have been this weekend, was the father of three.

The terrorist proceeded to handcuff the Israelis’ hands behind their back, and then shoot them at point blank range. Yehezkel and Hajbi died immediately; a woman who came running to help was critically wounded.

The terrorist then escaped, weapon in hand, out the front gate of the Park and is still at large despite a massive manhunt. In the meantime, a “suicide note” and social media posts left no doubt as to why the terrorist carried out the murders. One post reads:I am waiting for Allah!”

There is also no doubt as to who incited the terrorist to carry out the attack. Mahmoud Abbas’ steady stream of hate from Ramallah which encourages Palestinians to act to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other locations, as well as the steady stream of money that the PLO offers to terrorists and their families certainly played the primary role.

As Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked wrote just after the attack:  “Two Israelis, Kim Yehezkel and Ziv Hajbi, young parents, were murdered in cold blood and with terrible cruelty. My heart is with their families. The incitement of Abu Mazen and the PLO permeates everywhere and encourages murder and terror.”

Such incitement continued yesterday with the official PLO website describing the ongoing events: “The occupation blocks the entrances to villages from the west of Salfit after the killing of two settlers in a shooting operation.”

Settlers? Yehezkel and her family lived in Rosh Hayin; Hajbi and his family lived in Rishon LeZion. For the Palestinians, every Israeli is a “settler.”

A shooting operation? This is how the Palestinians describe all planned attacks to murder Israelis.

One final note today. The Barkan Industrial Zone in Samaria is a massive complex housing 164 factories that employ 7,200 workers–90% of which are Palestinians. In the particular plant where the terrorist was employed, 40 workers are Israelis, 300 are Palestinians.

The Zone has long been held up as a model of coexistence. One local leader had this to say: “This is a very serious incident; it has never happened before . . . for decades the industrial zone has been a bridge of coexistence.”

What this leader and everyone else needs to know is that when it comes to the Palestinians, bridges of coexistence are bridges to nowhere.
