Picture of the Day:
What you are looking at is the “latest” in explosive balloons: a cluster of balloons attached to an exploding mannikin. Note what is on the mannikin’s back–the Kipat HaSela (Dome of the Rock) and a red “Palestine”. As we all know, what Palestinians want is the elimination of Israel.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Three Palestinian terrorists attempted to smuggle 553,600 shekels into Judea and Samaria to fund their activities yesterday. Fortunately, they and the money were intercepted by Border Police at the intersection of Mishor Adumim and Nahalat Binyamin.
Palestinian terrorists unleashed a barrage of explosive balloons into southern Israel. Some of the balloons were shot down by IDF soldiers, and some exploded setting fires which were quickly extinguished. Hamas released this photo of explosive devices being attached to the balloons:
And lest you think that only one detonator is attached to each cluster of balloons:
Drama at the Elections Commission . . .
The Elections Commission hearing to decide what political parties or representatives of parties would be barred from running in the April 9th election was held today.
It was a stormy meeting highlighted by the parties on the “left” led by Meretz attempting to have Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) thrown off of the ballot. More specifically, the left was gunning for the two main leaders of Otzma: Michael Ben Ari and Itamar Ben Gvir.
Yesterday, Attorney General Mandleblit stuck his nose into the process by recommending that Ben Ari be barred because he supposedly “incited racism.”
Nevertheless–and surprisingly–the Commission ignored Mandleblit’s recommendation and approved Ben Ari, Ben Gvir, and Otzma.
In the end, this approval is meaningless. The decision has already been appealed to the leftist Israel Supreme Court which will undoubtedly overthrow the Election Commission decision.
Wow! More rain . . .
Yesterday, the Kineret (Sea of Galilee) reached a height of -212.66 meaning that it has risen by more than 2 meters this winter.
And because of all that rain Israel is in full bloom:

TODAY’S BLOG:
Israel Surrenders To Thuggery Again And Again and Again
There is no end to the sheer spinelessness of the Netanyahu government. Time after time, PM Netanyahu kowtows to thugs.
Take three examples from today’s news:
1. Khan Al Ahmar. You will recall that this illegal Palestinian settlement built illegally by the European Union in the E1 area near Jerusalem was ordered to be destroyed by the Israel High Court of Justice way back on September 5, 2018–almost exactly six months ago.
PM Netanyahu immediately declared that the order would be carried out “soon.” He made the same declaration in October, November, December, January, February, and most recently a few days ago.
But Khan Al-Ahmar still stands. Why? Because Netanyahu is terrified of offending the EU and all of the other bogus international “human rights activists.” The new story today is that Netanyahu is now offering to build the residents of Khan Al-Ahmar another settlement just down the road–also on land supposedly under Israeli sovereignty.
This decision is nothing more than surrendering to thuggery.
2. The Gaza border. It was revealed today that Hamas has rejected Israel’s “proposal” that the $15 million dollar monthly Qatari payments be resumed in exchange for the cessation of assaults against our soldiers on the border fence and the ongoing balloon terror.
The word is that Hamas now wants $20 million a month.
Outrageous. Outrageous. And more outrageous.
The original $15 million dollar payments were nothing more than blackmail money. The coming $20 million dollar payments (and you can be sure that Hamas will get what it wants) is even more blackmail.
Why is PM Netanyahu continuing to pay out the blackmail to Hamas? Because he and the IDF General Command are terrified of doing anything that will rankle Hamas.
The blackmail payments are nothing more than a rank surrendering to terrorist thuggery.
3. The Gate of Mercy on the Temple Mount. Anyone who has been reading israelstreet in the last week knows what the situation is. Basically, last week at the initiative of the Jordanian government, the Jordanian Islamic Wakf decided to change the status quo on the Mount by breaking into the Gate of Mercy–which had been closed by court order 16 years ago.
Once in the Gate, the Wakf–acting in conjunction with the Palestinians–set up a mosque in the Gate of Mercy compound. Israeli threats, detentions, and even a court ruling have not been able to dislodge the Wakf and Muslims from the new “mosque.’
Today, we have the news that the Islamic Wakf and the Israel police–with PM Netanyahu’s knowledge– have been conducting secret negotiations. Israel has now agreed to “renovate” the compound, and allow Muslims to carry on activities there twice a month.
Incredible. Why is Netanyahu going along with this usurping of Israeli sovereignty? Because he is terrified of offending Jordan.
It is just plain pathetic and nothing more than surrendering again to Jordanian/Palestinian/Muslim thuggery.
It is what we have come to expect from Benjamin Netanyahu.
