Hikers making the difficult climb up at Tzukim yesterday. The Tzukim cliffs are located in southern Israel along the Israel-Jordanian border (see map above).
The Pesach (Passover) which began on Friday evening, continues with some 160,000 Israelis heading out to national parks yesterday. Leading the way were the Caesarea National parks with more than 7,000 visitors, Ein Gedi (5000), Masada (4,500), Beit Guvrin, Besor, Tzukim, and Yarkon (3000+ each).

The IDF revealed yesterday that another 5 km of the new Gaza border fence has been completed. This “only” leaves 60 km (37+ miles) to go. With the constant threat of Hamas snipers, don’t expect this 60 km to be completed any time soon.
Palestinian terror in Judea and Samaria . . .
According to reports from hakohayehudi and Rescue Judea and Samaria:
Palestinian terrorists throwing Molotovs and “rocks” attacked Israeli motorists near Hizma, at various places in Gush Etzion, along the Tunnels Road, between Al-Aruv and Beit Ummar, and west of the Postal Junction among more than 25 places.
Palestinian terrorists using burning tires set fire to part of the Rosh Tzurim forest in Gush Etzion. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before major destruction occurred.

It was reported yesterday that the Likud party transferred 115 fake Arab ballot boxes to the Israel Election Commission along with recordings which show how boxes were stuffed with fake votes during the election.
You may not remember but Likud sent observers to numerous locations on election day to make sure that massive fraud did not take place.
As we have reported here on israelstreet, that fraud took place anyway. Will Likud’s delivery of the fake ballot boxes affect the election results? Almost certainly not; however, there remains a slim hope among those in the New Right Party that if enough votes are discounted, then the number of votes needed to meet the 3.25% election threshold will decrease.

President Rivlin had a special seder at Givat Olga on Friday evening at which he hosted 400 chayal bodedim (lone soldiers). You will recall that lone soldiers are soldiers who are serving in the IDF who have no parents in Israel.
Remarkably, among those 400 soldiers were soldiers from 35 different countries.

Not all the news about Passover is good . . .
Not all the news about Israelis going to nature is good. Israelis–specifically the ultra-orthodox–have become addicted to the use of plastic plates, cups, and utensils. The Israeli Environmental Lobby issued a report this week which shows that 90% of the waste on Israel’s beaches is from plastic (38% are disposable utensils of which about 16% are disposable cups and about 12% are plastic bags).
The report goes on to reveal that every year after Passover, 400 tons of waste are collected from the shores of the Kineret (Sea of Galilee).
The snow keeps falling . . .
Believe it or not, snow is falling on Mt. Hermon for the 4th consecutive day–adding up to a total of 25 cm. This is the first time that there have been four continuous days of snow on the mountain after mid-April since records first began being kept back in 1917.

Plagues Descend On Iran
Locusts swarming over southern Iran.
A state of emergency has been declared in 6 large provinces of the country, but not for the reason you may think. Ironically, considering it is Passover and the plagues which G-d sent to afflict Egypt, the worst plague of locusts in the last 40 years has descended on the country.
Almost certainly, more emergency declarations will soon be issued considering the step that President Trump took this morning. You will remember that when President Trump placed sanctions on countries importing oil from Iran last year, exemptions were given to some countries to continue importation.
In two weeks with the coming of May, those exemptions are being removed. This is the statement from the White House this morning:
