Sickening Photo Of The Day
What is sickening about this photograph?
Back in March, the Israel Supreme Court ordered that the mosque on top of the Gate of Mercy be closed. Not surprisingly, the Israel Police have steadfastly refused to enforce the order, and have even been videotaped opening the compound to Muslim worshipers. In refusing to do so, the Police are continuing their process of gradually handing sovereignty over the Temple Mount to the Jordanian/Palestinian Wakf Council.
Lest we forget, the entire Temple Mount is supposed to be under total Israeli sovereignty.
Supposed to be.
The News On The Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in Judea and Samaria in the last 24 hours . . .
There have been numerous terror attacks on Israelis ranging from assaults on cars and buses using Molotovs and rocks at Turmus’aya, Neve Daniel, the Gush Etzion Road near Hevron to violent clashes between terrorists and IDF forces at Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem and at Al-Aruv.
Jews on the Temple Mount . . .
Since last Wednesday, a paltry 1,200 Jews have been permitted to go to the Temple Mount to celebrate the Passover holiday.
It is worth remembering that Jews are only allowed to ascend to our holiest place a total of about 20 hours a week, from Sunday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 11:00 am and 13:30 pm to 14:30 pm. Even this is not really an accurate picture because Jews must stand in long lines in order to pass through an inspection, and are then only permitted up in groups of 20 or so. Once on the Mount, they are only permitted to stay for about 5 minutes–and even then in a restricted area.
Contrast this with Muslims who have no restrictions whatsoever.
The situation is pathetic.

A sad statistic . . .
In a talk yesterday, a religious figure noted that 100 years ago, 20% of the population of the Middle East was Christian.
Today, that percentage is 3%.
And it would be far less than 1% were it not for the Christians in Israel.

The Defection of Brigadier General Ali Nasiri
A variety of sources have reported in the last two days that Brigadier General Ali Nasiri, former head of counterintelligence services of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, has defected to an Arabian Gulf country and is holed up in an American Embassy where he is seeking asylum.
The reports say that Nasiri left Iran some time shortly after April 11 taking with him a treasure trove of secret documents related to Iranian military plans and terror activities around the world.
According to sources quoted at freebeacon, “Nasiri had in possession a large volume of documents recording the travels of senior IRGC commanders, intelligence personnel and operational units to foreign countries, all under the cover of diplomatic missions.”
If these reports are true, and there is always reason to look at counter-intelligence defections with abundant skepticism, it would be a coup of major proportions for those countries allied against Iran, and a major disaster for Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran continues trying to cope with another major disaster–the further Trump sanctions on its oil exportation scheduled to go into effect on May 3.
Just this morning, Iran declared that if the new sanctions go into effect, U.S. naval vessels will need to receive permission from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards before they can go through the Strait of Hormuz.
Your humble servant has a funny feeling that President Trump could care less what Iran declares.
