Yom HaShoah begins in a few hours at sundown in Israel.
A ceremony will begin at Yad Vashem at 8 pm during which everyone in the country will stand at attention for two minutes. This will be followed by another siren tomorrow morning at 10:00 am, and again all activity will cease for two minutes. We suggest that all of our readers stand at attention or sit quietly at 8 pm tonight and 10 am tomorrow morning to remember the millions who were murdered in the Holocaust.

In Judea and Samaria:
Palestinian terrorists attacked two women in a car at Wadi Hermiya. Both were wounded and had to be evacuated to a nearby hospital.
Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli buses and cars with “rocks” and Molotovs at such places as Tekoa, Kiryat Arba, the T-Junction in Gush Etzion, the Hatti Junction, Luban A-Sharqiya, on Road 446, and Al-Aruv. In the latter case of Al-Aruv, three terrorists were captured by the IDF.
TODAY’S BLOG:
A Million Jews In Judea And Samaria
Regular readers of israelstreet know that two of the places where Israelis are regularly assaulted by Molotov and “rock” throwing terrorists are Al-Aruv and Hawara.
Yesterday, the Supreme Planning Council of the Civil Administration announced that it has approved construction of a new Al-Aruv bypass road and a new Hawara bypass road.
These roads were not approved overnight. In fact, it was not until November 2017 that they were elevated to the list of priorities by PM Netanayahu after a protest tent was set up outside his Jerusalem residence. The tent was the idea of the Bereaved Families Association–a number of families in that association had lost families on roads around Al-Aruv and Hawara.
Netanyahu has now earmarked 800 million shekels for the construction of these and other roads that will provide safety for Jewish community members in Judea and Samaria. More than this, the bypass roads will hopefully foster new communities. As one leader said yesterday: “The Huwara bypass road and the Al Aruv bypass road will provide convenient, safe, security and rapid access to Jewish communities. This is a historic day–we have advanced an important and strategic stage on the way to a million Jews in Judea and Samaria.”
Hopefully, work will begin on the roads by the end of the year after bids for construction have gone out and contractors selected.
A million Jews in Judea and Samaria.
What a wonderful thought!
