The News On the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

On the Gaza border:

There is no end to the barrages of explosive balloon clusters being launched out of Gaza toward southern Israel. This afternoon, a cluster of 30 balloons with explosives landed at an IDF base near Beersheva. Fortunately, no Israelis were wounded as IDF sappers neutralized the explosive devices attached.

In Judea and Samaria:

This fire quickly spread and took hours to extinguish.

There were numerous attacks on Israelis at such places as Qadum. Meanwhile, a Palestinian terrorist was shot at the Negohot Checkpoint after refusing orders to stop.

Another Nauseating Friday On The Temple Mount

More than 150,000 Muslims on the Temple Mount yesterday. 92,000 of these Muslims were Palestinians from Judea and Samaria (photo AP Mahmoud Illean).

This photo was obviously taken from the Al-Aksa Mosque–the direction to which the Muslims are praying (it is worth noting that their backsides are to the Kipat HaSela in which is the Foundation Stone, the holiest place in Judaism).

Other than the sheer numbers of Muslims being permitted on the Mount, what is also nauseating is the fact that Israeli security personnel are doing everything they can to facilitate Muslim/Palestinian connection to the Mount–even to the point of operating shuttle services and handing out Ramadan greeting cards. 

Yes, you read that correctly.

The Israeli police are operating shuttle buses to bring Palestinians to the Temple Mount.

These are the same police that will not permit Jews on the Mount during Ramadan–and only permitted 1200 on the Mount during the entire week of Passover last month.

What is not only nauseating but infuriating is that the end result of all of this Israeli goodwill will be that the PLO and Mahmoud Abbas will heighten their calls for Palestinians to defend Al-Aksa “with their blood”, and the next Palestinian terrorist will say that he murdered Israelis for “Al-Aksa.”
