Good News Of The Day
Gabriel Lavi, who was savagely stabbed in the head, neck, back, chest, and legs two days ago at the Damascus Gate by a Palestinian terrorist, has had his breathing tube removed and is breathing on his own.
Your prayers have helped; however, Gabriel remains in critical condition and needs your continued prayers.

The News On The Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
In Judea and Samaria:
Azzun, the Tunnels Road, Tekoa, Givon, Al-Aruv, and various places throughout Gush Etzion: these were all locations where terrorists threw “rocks” and Molotovs at Israeli motorists.
On the Gaza border:
More launches of incendiary balloons from Gaza and more fires in the communities in the south. The worst fires of the day were in the Kissufim Forest.
Who cares about the fires? . . .
Or the continuous assaults on our soldiers along the Border Gaza border fence? Certainly not our government which is now allowing the unsupervised transfer of money from the PLO to Hamas.
And this is in addition to the monthly Qatari blackmail money.
By the way, wasn’t the Qatari money supposed to bring about a ceasefire on the Gaza Border?
The Iranians and the Syrians raise the ante . . .
The Iranians/Syrians fired two missiles at Mt. Hermon yesterday; one exploded in Syria; the other hit close enough to our Israeli ski lift that one of the cable cars that ferry skiers up the mountain was hit by shrapnel.
In response, Israel hit Syrian artillery and observation positions. According to the Syrians, ten Syrian soldiers were killed.
Incredibly, the IDF seems baffled by the missile strike on Mt. Hermon. Was it the Syrians or the Iranians? And were they really trying to hit Israeli installations or just demonstrating that they can? Such are the ludicrous ruminations of our IDF General Staff these days.
Speaking of the area near the Golan Heights . . .
As you know from our previous reporting, a new Israeli community will soon be built in the Golan in honor of President Trump’s recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Heights.
The two names being bandied about as a name for that community are “President Trump” and “Ramat Trump.” Your humble servant prefers the latter, how about you dear reader?
Speaking of President Trump . . .

You will recall that Trump’s Deal of the Century was scheduled to be unveiled just after Shavuot; according to an unconfirmed report, it now appears that the unveiling will not take place until early in 2020 due to the new Israeli election.
Speaking of the coming election in September . . .
PM Netanyahu began cleaning house today by firing Naftali Bennett from his post as Education Minister and Ayelet Shaked as Justice Minister.
What a loss–especially insofar as Shaked is concerned.
When one thinks about all the dramatic changes she made in the Israeli judiciary in the past three years in order to push it more to the “conservative” side, Shaked must be considered the most significant Justice Minister in the history of Israel.
It is simply too bad that she did not have 4 more years to finish what she started.
Jordan strikes again on the Temple Mount . . .
You will recall how we blogged yesterday that Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan can not be considered “moderate.” Jordan showed that again today.
On Friday, Israel allowed 260,000 Muslims to pray at the Al-Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount. Today, the police relented and allowed 1,162 Jews to ascend the Mount because of Jerusalem Day.
A paltry 1,162 Jews.
What happened? The Muslims rioted, and Israeli security moved in.
This morning, Jordan is “demanding” that Israel remove the forces from the Temple Mount. The Jordanians say that if the security personnel are not removed immediately the entire region will erupt in violence.
Amazing.
TODAY’S BLOG:
The New “Ari Fuld House”: Support Ateret Cohanim!
If you don’t do anything else today, your humble servant urges you to visit the fundraising website of Ateret Cohanim.
This fantastic organization is in the midst of a 48 hour compaign to raise money to buy another Arab property in eastern Jerusalem in honor of Jerusalem Day.
Today, Ateret Cohanim dedicated and named a new house it has purchased in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City the “Ari Fuld House” in honor of the heroic Ari Fuld who was murdered eight months ago at the Gush Etzion Junction.
Ari’s wife Miriam was present at the dedication and said: “If Ari is looking, I hope he is proud to have a house called after him. It’s a shame that it should have happened this way, but it’s another step forward toward the goal of bringing the Jewish people back to our land. We deserve to be here, Ari was a proud Jew, he did not apologize for anything, we deserve to be here, we are the chosen people.”
As you may not know, Ateret Cohanim was established in 1979. Its mission is to maintain a unified Jerusalem by increasing the Jewish presence in the eastern part of the city. At the Fuld dedication, an Ateret Cohanim spokesman declared: “Last year, thanks to the donors, we increased the number of Jewish families in East Jerusalem. We continued to redeem land and houses. This year, ahead of the publication of the [Trump Peace Plan], we want to establish facts on the ground and bring another 1,000 families to eastern Jerusalem.”
Your humble servant cannot think of a better cause.
