Just as Benny Gantz was five years ago when he gave his infamous “anemones” speech which falsely described the situation on the border as peaceful, Kochavi is either completely detached from reality (or maliciously suppressing it). As he was speaking, the border communities were hit with more fires from more incendiary balloons launched from Gaza. Hardest hit were the areas in and around Be’eri, Sha’ar Hanagev, and the Negev Regional Council.

Here are the facts:
1. In August of 2016, 18-year-old Slonim Hasid left the Mount of Olives by bus. Near the A-Tur neighborhood, he exited the bus, and went into a small grocery store to buy himself a popsicle.

The Fake Outcry Over Ambassador Friedman’s Comment
Here is the comment from the New York Times interview with American Ambassador to Israel David Friedman that has the Israeli and international “left” all up in arms this morning:
“Under certain circumstances, I think Israel has the right to retain some, but unlikely all, of the West Bank.”
How innocuous could this have possibly been?
What planet is the “left” living on? There are almost a half a million Jews living in Area C of Judea and Samaria–in communities as large as 60,000 people.
A small section of Beitar Illit–a community/city of 60,000 residents 6 miles south of Jerusalem. The “left” calls Beitar Illit “a settlement.”
How is it even possible to think that these people will be uprooted from their homes? The fact is that everyone, including the “left”, knows that what Friedman said is true.
Of course, Israel will eventually annex most of Area C.
To continue the false narrative that Judea and Samaria somehow “belong” to the Palestinians and that somehow all of the Israelis living there will be evacuated does nothing except perpetuate a delusion.
As we have often written on israelstreet, the sooner Israel annexes Area C, the better.
