The News On The Israeli Street
Palestinian terror on the Gaza border . . .
Great news! There were no fires yesterday, no attacks at the border fence, and no attempted infiltrations into Israel.
And if you believe this government spiel, your humble servant will sell you some beachfront property in the middle of the Sahara.
The reality:
But never mind a small thing like the fire at Nir Am, Israel has plunged ahead with the latest “truce” with Hamas. This morning 20 tankers of diesel fuel are passing through the Kerem Shalom Crossing destined for the power plant in Gaza.
Supposedly. We all know how deliveries like this first have to pass through the hands of Hamas for redirecting to its terrorists.
By the way, following the fuel shipment this morning, Hamas threatened that if Israel doesn’t keep its promises, “there will be a great escalation.”
Can you believe how Hamas leads Israel around by the nose?
And guess what? Yet another fire has already been reported this morning in the Eshkol Region.
Palestinian terror in Judea and Samaria . . .
Molotov and “rock” attacks on Israeli motorists near Adurim, Negohot, Tekoa, Luban A-Sharqiya and other places; a sustained Molotov attack on IDF troops at Beit Jala; arson fires at various places; and, and, and . . .
In other words, it was a typical day in the wild west of Judea and Samaria.
An exciting moment in Jerusalem today . . .
The “Path of the Pilgrims”, the street used by pilgrims to the Second Temple, will be opened to the public. Actually, it has been open in an extremely limited fashion to the public for several years–your humble servant walked it 3 years ago.
So what is the big deal? The Path runs underground from the Pool of Siloam at Ir David where pilgrims washed themselves to Robinson’s Arch at the Kotel (Western Wall). When I walked it, it was an ascending maze of incredibly tight stone corridors barely wide enough to fit through–a highly claustrophobic experience. It has now been widened.
It was a major discovery, and it is yet another powerful connection of Jews to our eternal capital.
And for drugs like Sildenafil that comes as a cure viagra prescription online to cardiovascular activities since it improves the blood supply to the penile region. cute-n-tiny.com levitra pharmacy purchase It will bring those young days back, when you loved outing. This is something cheapest viagra online we see or hear every day, whether we are browsing the internet and much more that can make anybody’s life simple and smooth. Semenax is made from female viagra sildenafil natural ingredients and many urologists have approved and recommended this medication as a safe one to increase sperm production.
To mark the occasion today, Trump emissary Jason Greenblatt and U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman will inaugurate the finished “Path”.
As you can imagine, the Israeli left and the Palestinians are up in arms over what they call another attempt to “Judaize” Jerusalem. Jerusalem has been our capital for more than 3000 years–how can we Judaize it even more?
TODAY’S BLOG:
Israel Continues To Make The World A Better Place
All of the good things that Israel does within Israel to help make the world a better place often gets lost in all of the news about Palestinian terror and Israeli politics.
Just this morning at 5:45 am, we were out for early morning walk along the beach in Ashdod when what should we see?
And a few seconds later they were plunging into the surf:
It turns out that these young people are members of the Australian Marine Rescue Project, and they were on the beach here in Ashdod because Ashdod has the only such marine educational program in Israel. The project educates young teenagers from Australia, aged 14-16, to serve as marine ambassadors by learning about swimming, diving, surfing, first aid, cpr at sea, and more. The parents also come and participate in the project as counselors.
At the conclusion of the program, the teenagers return to Australia to spread their knowledge.
Another area in which Israel spreads its knowledge is through its educational institutions. Students come from all over the world to study here, publish research with noted professors, and create “things” to make life better for all of us.
Several weeks ago, it was revealed that The Weizmann Institute in Rehovot ranks highly in a number of areas.
For example it is the 6th ranked educational institute in the world in terms of medical patents produced, ranking just behind the Japan Advanced Institute for Science and Technology, The Rockefeller University, The University of Texas South West Medical Center, the California Institute of Technology, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It is also in the top 3 universities in the world in terms of research that is produced that is cited by researchers at other universities.
What is remarkable is that entire population of the Institute is made up of only 1000 students (300 MSc and 700 PhD) and 380 post doctoral fellows. Included in the above numbers are 325 visiting international scholars.
Amazingly, considering its small student population and staff of only 172 faculty scientists, there are 238 research groups contained within 18 departments with 250 laboratories.
As noted on its webpage: “The Weizmann Institute has a long history of investigation and discovery rooted in a mission of advancing science for the benefit of humanity.”
This is the essence of Israel–always working for the benefit of humanity.
