Excellent Quote of the Day
“The Palestinian Authority claims that my presence with Ambassador Friedman in this historic event is an expression of support for the Judaization of Jerusalem or an act of provocation against the Palestinians. We can not Judaize what history and archaeology point to as a fact, we can only recognize reality and stop pretending it is not true, and real peace will be built only on the foundations of truth.”
Trump emissary Jason Greenblatt responding to criticism from the PLO/PA yesterday about his and Ambassador Friedman’s appearance at the opening of “The Path of the Pilgrims” in Jerusalem
Bravo to Greenblatt for telling it like it is and repeating exactly what your humble servant wrote in yesterday’s blog.
By the way, here is the criticism that Greenblatt was responding to from the PLO Foreign Ministry: “The American administration proves every day that it is hostile to the ‘Palestinian people’ and denies its national rights, while at the same time fully supporting the imperialist settlement enterprise that is being led by the extreme right in the occupation state.”
“The occupation state.”
Doesn’t the PLO parade around the world declaring that it recognizes “Israel”? Of course, we in Israel have known all along that this “recognition” has never been anything except a charade.
The News On The Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in Judea and Samaria . . .
Overnight, Border Police and IDF forces captured seven wanted terrorists who have been involved in attacks on soldiers and civilians.
Some of those attacks yesterday included a “rock” attack on a bus on the Gush Etzion Road near Hevron, another “rock” on Israelis at Livneh near Mt. Hevron, and a Molotov assault on a bus just north of Jericho.
Palestinian terror along the Gaza border . . .
Though the IDF is now doing everything it can to suppress news of fires caused by incendiary balloons, those balloons continue being launched by the dozens from Gaza. There were at least two fires yesterday:
And another fire near Kiryat Gat:
Meanwhile, Israel continues to deliver diesel fuel to Gaza like there is no tomorrow. Today “dozens” of tankers are going into the terror state with numerous tankers designated for “private entities.”
Private entities? This is code for Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Missiles Missiles Everywhere!
Israel carried out numerous attacks in Syria overnight against Iranian, Hezbollah, and Syrian targets. Apparently the attacks came from the IAF and from a ship or ships off the Lebanese coast.
By all accounts, our missiles hit their marks: an Iranian missile compound in Jomrayah, the Al-Kiswah Syrian AFB, a Hezbollah compound near Homs, the Tartous Military Base, Dimas, Sahnaya, Mezza, and Iranian positions in Alexei and Mezzeh.
The following map shows some of the above targets:
Also, by all accounts (except for those coming from Syria), the Syrians using the Russian anti-aircraft missile systems dramatically missed their marks.
According to the Russians, at least one SS-125 missile exploded in a Syrian civilian neighborhood killing at least 4 people.
According to the Turks, at least one missile, probably an S300, actually exploded in Cyprus.
Yes, Cyprus.
Who knows how many other missiles landed in the Mediterranean or hit other locations in Lebanon and Syria?
All of this brings to mind the incident involving the Russian plane that was apparently shot down by another S-200 or 300 battery during a previous Israeli air strike.
One thing is certain. Whenever Israel strikes targets in Syria, everyone from Cyprus to the east had better hunker down for fear of errant missiles being fired out of Syria.
