Viral Tweet Of The Day
“You Palestinians are remnants of peoples. You’re not even Arabs. The Jews are closer to us than you are and much more respected than you are. You are the reason for the hostility between Israel and the Arab countries.”
A Saudi citizen known only as Abu Ali posted a 4 minute diatribe–of which the above quote is just a snippet–against the Palestinians on twitter yesterday that went viral.
The News On The Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 48 hours . . .
On the Gaza border:
It is still unclear what Palestinian terrorists fired at southern Israel over the weekend. Apparently (amidst IDF claims of “false alarms”), 1 missile hit a beach south of Ashkelon and two more struck in the Eshkol Region; at least 1 mortar exploded near Nahal Oz.
What is not unclear is what the IDF response to these attacks was because it was nothing. No response whatsoever. In other words, it was just another night of southern Israelis huddling in bomb shelters while their IDF general command decided to take no action.
What’s new?
Take a look at the column on the right.
Since January 12th 2012, 10,680 missiles and mortars have struck southern Israel.
2740 days and 10,680 missiles and mortars.
An average of 3.897 per day.
Could you live like that?
Not only living from one missile and mortar attack to the next, but also living under a constant alert for infiltrating terrorists: on Friday and Saturday alone, IDF soldiers intercepted numerous armed terrorists on their way into Israel.
In Judea and Samaria:
Members of the Menashe brigade captured a knife-armed terrorist from Jalabun yesterday.
Molotov and “rock” attacks took place between Revava and Yakir, beside Nokdim, at Qaddum, near Modi’in, at Halhul, and Hawara among other places.
Palestinian terrorists attacked a group of IDF soldiers with IEDs at Shechem and between Hermesh and Mevo Dotan.
Speaking of Samaria . . .

The War In Syria Turns Even More Internecine*
The title of our blog today implies that the war in Syria has always been internecine with everyone killing everyone else when they have the chance.
But two events in the last few days have been striking.
The first was a Hezbollah funeral for Hassan Nasser, a commander in its armored tank division.
Apparently, Nasser was not just any commander. Known as the “Lion of the Tanks,” Nasser was killed this past week during a battle at Alhama in northern Syria.
Nasser’s funeral procession was unusual because it contained a Hezbollah tank.
The reason that Hezbollah has tanks in Syria is because regular Sunni and Alawite Syrian soldiers have come to despise Shi’ite Hezbollah militants (as opposed to the Syrian leadership), and have gone so far as to use Syrian tanks to gun down Hezbollah fighters in the back. Because of this, Hezbollah has developed its own armored corps–and has manned it exclusively with Shi’ites.
The second incident occurred this past week when a Syrian Brigadier General was killed by a roadside bomb near Basra Al-Hariri.
Shortly thereafter an Iranian militia attacked a convoy of Russian soldiers whom they held responsible for the Syrian’s death. Obviously, there is no love lost between the Russians on the one hand, and the Iranians and their proxies on the other–mainly because the Russians have been forcing the Iranians to evacuate their positions in southern Syria and along the Israeli border.
Whether such an evacuation is taking place is debatable; we have already reported here how Iranians (and Hezbollah fighters) are being “citizenized” by Assad–and are already wearing Syrian army uniforms.
In any case with Syrians killing Hezbollah fighters and Russians killing Syrians and Iranians killing Russians, the Syrian war has turned ever more internecine.
