Happy Tu B’Av!
Today is Tu B’Av–Israel’s version of Valentine’s Day. Here’s wishing you a very happy day with the people that you love!
The News on the Israeli Street
In Jerusalem:
There was another stabbing attack in the Old City late yesterday afternoon. Two terrorists attempted to kill Israeli border police near the Iron Gate. Both terrorists were killed.
The two terrorists were from Al-Azariya (“place of Lazarus”–named for the man Jesus supposedly raised from the dead). Al-Azariya is also known as Bethany and is located about 2 km outside of Jerusalem on the back side of the Mt. of Olives.
On the Gaza border . . .
Palestinian terrorists set more fires yesterday with explosive balloons–the largest one was near Kfar Aza.
The protest against paying blackmail money to Hamas made it to Tel Aviv yesterday in the form of Molotov bottles with “money” inside.
Speaking of terrorists . . .
On August 9, 2001, a Palestinian terrorist walked into the Sbarro Pizzeria in Jerusalem and detonated himself. 15 Israelis including 8 children and a pregnant woman were murdered and 130 more were wounded.
Ahlam Tamimi who planned the attack and chose the location received $51,836.
Abdullah Barghouti, the bomb maker who made the bomb vest, received $213,848.
The family of Izz al-Din Shuheil al-Masri who detonated himself received $53,689.
The “bankrupt” PLO still pays the Al-Masri, Barghouti, and Tamimi families $7,321 per month.

Lunacy On Parade:
Responses to the Omar and Tlaib Ban
[Breaking news: Rashida Tlaib has been granted entrance into Israel on “humanitarian grounds” to visit her 90 year-old grandmother. She has promised to obey any conditions and not advocate for BDS while here. Does anyone really believe her? What will happen when she suddenly decides to go to the Al-Aksa Mosque?]
Obviously, all the talk in Israel today is about Israel’s banning Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib (alternately spelled Talib) from entering Israel.
Before we come to the idiotic responses to that ban, let’s recall a few basic facts:
*Both Omar and Tlaib have made a career of verbally attacking Israel, Jews, and even the Holocaust. They are both raging anti-Semites.
*Both Omar and Tlaib are ardent supporters of BDS–the movement that seeks to eradicate Israel. They are more than just critics of Israel; they are outright enemies.
*Both Omar and Tlaib filed plans with Israel which specified that they were coming to visit “Palestine” and would not talk to any Israeli officials while here. They had no plans to visit Israel.
*Both Omar and Tlaib also specified that would pray at the Al-Aksa Mosque (despite Israel’s asking them not to because of its sensitivity), go to Bethlehem, go to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron, and, and, and . . . theirs was to be a “visit” of total provocation.
In this context, let’s read some of the many idiotic responses to Israel’s ban:
J Street:
“This . . . decision by Prime Minister Netanyahu is dangerous, unacceptable and wrong. As sitting members of Congress representing hundreds of thousands of Americans in their districts, Reps. Omar and Tlaib have the same right as every one of their colleagues to visit Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory . . . Israel has declared war on the Democratic Party.”
No one has “a right” to visit Israel any more than everyone has a right to visit the United States. Over the years, the U.S. has denied entry to a wide variety of people such as the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
Israel has declared war on the Democratic Party? In the last five years the ultra-progressive wing of the Democratic Party has declared war on Israel. Supporting the BDS movement is at the very least a declaration of economic war.
AIPAC:
“We disagree with Reps. Omar and Tlaib’s support for the anti-Israel and anti-peace BDS movement, along with Rep. Tlaib’s calls for a one-state solution. We also believe every member of Congress should be able to visit and experience our democratic ally Israel firsthand.”
What planet is AIPAC living on? Omar and Tlaib had no plans to “visit and experience our democratic ally Israel firsthand.”
The Jewish Federations of North America:
“Every member of Congress, without exception, should be allowed to visit Israel, irrespective of whether we agree with their point of view.”
Again, what gives every member of Congress the right to visit anywhere?
The Simon Wiesenthal Center:
“Tlaib and Omar [are] unapologetic anti-Semites. [But] the first instinct of Israeli officials to let them into the country was [the] right one.”
Amazing. Unapologetic anti-Semites, but we should let them come here to further express their anti-Semitism.
Just unbelievable.
The American Jewish Committee:
“Israel faced a tough choice . . . [it] should’ve taken the high road & let these Members of Congress in, no matter how vile their views.”
No matter how vile their views? So Israel should let in anti-Semites such as neo-Nazis and KKK members?
Israel Policy Forum:
“[This decision] can only serve to harden [Tlaib and Omar’s] current views, along with delivering an insult to the U.S. Congress.”
How can Tlaib and Omar’s views about Israel be hardened any more? They already believe that Israel should not exist.
The U.S. Congress was not insulted by Israel. Tlaib and Omar do that on a daily basis.
Sen. Bernie Sanders:
All around the generic levitra mastercard world ED has been dependable in demolishing the sexual existences of married people. Exercising anti-impotence medicine forms an erection enough to begin intercourse for around 70% cialis tab otherwise a healthy man. Either way, these rallies provide good friends for discounts on cialis the female rider. Yes, the site runs with different canada cialis types of treatments.
“It] is a sign of enormous disrespect to these elected leaders, to the United States Congress, and to the principles of democracy.”
Just because someone is elected to the U.S. Congress does not mean they deserve respect, and by the way, the law prohibiting BDS supporters from entering Israel was passed by the democratically elected Knesset of Israel.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren:
“[It] is a shameful, unprecedented move.”
The shameful, unprecedented move was for two raging anti-Israel anti-Semites to think that they could enter Israel.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives:,
“Israel’s denial of entry to Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar is a sign of weakness, and beneath the dignity of the great State of Israel.”
What a joke. Pelosi despises Omar and Tlaib. It is beneath Pelosi’s dignity to pretend that Tlaib and Omar should have been let in.
Rep. Jerry Nadler:
“[The decision] undermines the ability for our two allied countries to have the frank, open and, at times, difficult discussions that we must have in order to ensure Israel remains a secure and democratic nation.”
What a patronizing piece of crap. We in Israel must be told by the U.S. what we must do to have a secure and democratic nation?
Joe Biden, Obama’s Vice President and current seeker of the Democrat Party nomination:
“I have always been a stalwart supporter of Israel—a vital partner that shares our democratic values. No democracy should deny entry to visitors based on the content of their ideas—even ideas they strongly object to. And no leader of the free world should encourage them to do so.”
Pure hypocrisy. Perhaps Biden should go back and take a look at the people that the Obama Adminstration–of which he was the Vice President–denied entry into the U.S. because of the “content of their ideas.”
We could go on, but as you can see and already know, we live in a universe turned upside down as exhibited by the sheer lunacy of the responses to the ban.
Thank goodness Israel showed self-respect by keeping Omar and Tlaib out!*
*Tlaib will almost certainly be let in if she asks to visit her grandmother on “humanitarian” grounds.
