The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
On the Gaza border:
At 9:00 pm last night, incoming missile sirens sounded for the area around Sderot. Residents on the ground reported that terrorists in Gaza fired at least three missiles–one of which exploded in the area before the sirens went off. The IDF spokesman later said that one missile was intercepted by the Iron Dome.
Two Israelis suffered injuries in trying to get to their bomb shelters.
Early this morning, the IDF attacked the usual ramshackle Hamas observation posts and “underground infrastructure” (aka “empty ground).
Earlier in the day, dozens more “explosive balloons” were launched into southern Israel resulting in six fires.
In the South (unspecified location):
An IDF soldier reported that he fought off an attempted kidnapping by Palestinian terrorists. The IDF released no further information about the incident.
In Judea and Samaria:
There was a horrific bulldozer attack. A Palestinian terrorist rammed his car into two Israelis (brother and sister) from Gush Etzion who were standing behind a bus stop. Watch this video to view the unbelievable scene.*
The 17-year-old brother was critically wounded in the head and body and is currently in a medically induced coma. His 19-year-old sister was “seriously wounded.” Nearby soldiers shot and killed the terrorist as he exited his car.
The Tlaib saga grows weary . . .
As you undoubtedly know by now, following the Israeli ban on Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, Tlaib wrote a letter to Interior Minister Deri requesting that she be allowed to visit her elderly grandmother.
In that letter, at no prodding of the Israeli government, she promised to abide by any conditions that Israel set and not to engage in BDS activity.
Interior Minster Deri promptly gave her permission to enter.
Whereupon, she declared that she would not enter because to do so “would kill a part of herself” since she would be prohibited from exposing Israeli “racism and oppression” to the world.

Subsequently, she and Omar launched an all-out twitter attack on Israel–joined by all of their supporters including the usual cast of anti-Semites who have jumped on the chance to bash Israel once again.
Your humble servant does not wish to understate the entire Tlaib and Omar saga, but frankly it has quickly become tiresome in the extreme.
Minister Deri summed it up best yesterday after Tlaib’s latest declaration when he wrote that Tlaib “hates Israel more than she loves her grandmother.”
TODAY’S BLOG:
Israel Outrageously Agrees To Boycott Itself
If you can believe this, in the midst of all the brouhaha about Tlaib and Omar being kept out of Israel because they support the BDS boycott against this country, comes news that Israel is on the verge of boycotting itself.
Next week, the Netanyahu government is set to sign a free trade agreement with South Korea. This is being billed as a major step in opening up trade to Asia.
However, Israel has apparently agreed to a South Korean demand to exclude Judea, Samaria, and the Golan Heights from the agreement. In other words, any company operating in these parts of Israel will not be exempt from custom fees involved in the import and export of goods from South Korea.
It is a decision that is beyond outrageous.
Netanyahu government officials declared two days ago that the deal has “immense strategic importance” and is expected to pave the way for similar deals with other states in the region.”
To which your humble servant responds: “So what.”
In our humble opinion, there should never be a trade agreement or any other kind of agreement that does not encompass all of Israel. To allow South Korea to dictate the exclusion of Judea, Samaria, and the Golan Heights is tantamount to kowtowing to the BDS movement.
As often happens these days, we are left asking “Has Israel no dignity or self-respect?”
