UPDATE 7:00 am Tuesday

The main update is there is no real update. Final results are now expected to be announced late this afternoon. There are more than 300,000 votes yet to be counted.

UPDATE 12:00 am

71% of the vote has now been counted, but no actual vote totals have been released. It is believed that most votes will be counted by 1:30 am at which time an official “unofficial” result will be announced.

In the meantime, everyone on the left is now blaming Benny Gantz for a lackluster campaign, and the truth is that the Israeli public has finally caught on to Gantz’s deficiencies. There are numerous calls for him to resign as head of Kahol Lavan.

UPDATE 10:00 pm Monday

60.

All exit polls are now projecting that PM Netanyahu’s Likud Party has scored a resounding win in the election.

Depending on the exit poll, Likud has won 36 or 37 seats, while Kahol Lavan is at 33. Joining Likud are Shas with 9, UTJ with 8, and Yamina with 7.

Every exit poll has the right at 60 seats–1 short of the magic 61 in the Knesset.

Obviously the left has been trounced. Not only has Kahol Lavan dropped, the Labor/Meretz/Bridge Party went nowhere–apparently taking only 6 or 7 seats.

The outliers are:

Joint Arab List (at 14 or 15), and Liberman (at 7).

None of the above is written in concrete and is subject to change in the coming hours. Actual votes have to be counted, the soldiers’ and diplomats’ votes have to be counted, as well as others.

But for the moment, in your humble servant’s opinion, things are looking much better than they were 24 hours ago.

UPDATE 7:00 pm

The voter turnout continues to exceed expectations. As of 6:00 pm, 56.3% of voter had voted. This compares to 53.5% at the same time last September.

There are a host of uncorroborated reports swirling about such as low turnout in Kahol Lavan cities and high turnout in Israeli-Arab areas. These reports are undoubtedly “spin” designed to get more people to the polls in the waning hours.

A funny 9 second video. Yair Lapid, one of Kahol Lavan’s leaders was asking a little girl (Amalia) who she would vote for. Listen for her soft answer: Bibi.

Update 6:00 pm:
