The News on the Israeli Street
The daily Corona update . . .
7 am Thursday: There are now 17,377 confirmed cases of Corona in Israel of whom 14,983 have recovered. 25 people are on ventilators. 291 Israelis have died.
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
There was an attempted stabbing at the Maccabim crossing. A Palestinian terrorist armed with a knife was subdued by security guards before he could attack.
Palestinian terrorists wielding “rocks” and Molotovs attacked Israelis at more than a dozen locations including the 465 Bypass near Ofarim and along the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road,
An explosive “balloon” launched from Gaza detonated over Sderot. No Israelis were wounded.
As predicted, Gantz moves quickly to support terrorists . . .
It was just two weeks ago that your humble servant wrote a blog entitled “An Unmitigated Disaster: Gantz Takes Over As Defense Minister“. In it and in other blogs, I predicted that it would not be long until Benny Gantz would act to reverse all decisions made in the last 4 months by then-Defense Minister Naftali Bennett.
This morning, Benny Gantz canceled Bennett’s order preventing the payment of salaries to murderers of Israelis. Bennett’s order had been to freeze and close all bank accounts into which the PLO was depositing funds to be used by imprisoned terrorists and the families of dead terrorists.
Benny Gantz ended that order today so that terrorists and their families can once again be paid blood money.
And Benny Gantz is supposed to be our “Defense” Minister.
Sovereignty/annexation delays in the works? . . .
It has been reported in the last two days that new American conditions are being placed on any Israeli proposal to apply sovereignty over parts of Area C of Judea and Samaria.
In a phone call to PM Netanyahu on Tuesday, Jared Kushner told Netanyahu he should delay making any push until well after July 1. The reason? Because the Trump Administration has too much on its plate now to deal with another situation in the Middle East.
Today comes word that Americans are also now demanding that no sovereignty/annexation take place unless there is a “broad national Israeli agreement” on the subject. Of course, such a broad agreement will never come because of the Israeli “left” which includes political parties such as the Joint Arab List, Yesh Atid, Meretz, Labor, and Blue and White.

Whatever Happened To The Jerusalem Post?
Until a few years ago, your humble servant was an avid reader of Israel’s iconic newspaper The Jerusalem Post. Even until today, I continue as a daily subscriber with the paper arriving on my doorstep each morning.
But what has happened over the years is disconcerting as I have watched the newspaper continue to veer ever more sharply to the “left.”

In essence, The Jerusalem Post, under the managing editorship of David Brinn has sadly become a mouthpiece for the likes of Jordan, the UAE, the PLO, and the American and Israeli “left.”
